ZERO FLEXES HIS UK BASS PROWESS ON VERSATILE TWO-TRACKER 'GOD COMPLEX / CONTROL THE MOST OF YOU' ON NIGHTMODE

Zero makes his debut on NIGHTMODE with ‘God Complex / Control The Most Of You,’ a double dose of bass-heavy UK grooves arriving as the final offering from the label’s tenth season of releases.

British producer Zero continues his rise from the underground with a breakout two-sided single on NIGHTMODE. The lead single “God Complex,” sees the producer connecting with veteran UK emcee PAV4N for a swagged-out heater. On “Control The Most Of You,” Zero shines on his own with an infectious bass-driven bop.

Zero and PAV4N display a multitude of chemistry on “God Complex.” As one of the founding members of the iconic electronic rap group Foreign Beggars, PAV4N’s commanding vocals instantly feel familiar yet fresh. His enlightened flow floats over the powerful production, driving the track forward as Zero weaves magic around his sharp and energetic bars. Mixing menacing horns, a hypnotizing lead synth, shuffling drums, filthy basslines, and an underlying murky aesthetic creates the perfect club-ready anthem. It’s a chest-pumping, shuffle-inducing smash that’s UK to its core in all the right ways.

“Control The Most Of You” sees Zero shifting gears without losing any impact. The high-pitched and stuttered vocals pull at the heartstrings while still possessing an underlying catchiness. With the vocals, Zero effortlessly creates an addictive yet emotive cornerstone that runs throughout the track. Pulsing bass, futuristic flourishes, punchy percussion, and a dizzying lead are layered with precision. The heavy-hitting drops are primed for dark basement sets while the moving vocal loops serve to give the track an even broader appeal. Expect this one to become a weapon of choice in your favorite DJs’ sets moving forward.

“‘God Complex’ is a straight-up UK bass banger born straight from the campsite of the iconic festival Boomtown, where I happened to meet Pav for the first time. We exchanged details, and, two weeks later, had finished the tune. Clean and punchy vocals, combined with huge low-end power in the form of big kick drums and an airy midrange bass that floats in the midst of it, all make up this club banger. The B-side for me is always a chance to show off versatility, and ‘Control The Most Of You’ is a perfect example of that. Weird yet unique synths alongside spaced-out chopped-up female vox. Both tunes are completely different but compliment each other perfectly in my opinion.”—Zero

RIORDAN PUTS FORTH NEW LATIN-INFUSED TECH HOUSE SINGLE "PACO" ON IN / ROTATION

UK producer Riordan makes his debut appearance on Insomniac’s IN / ROTATION imprint with his new Latin-tinged heater “Paco.”

Based out of Sussex, Riordan has been quickly making a name for himself within tech house circles after building an unstoppable buzz on his social channels. The fast-rising phenom is now gearing up for his debut outing on the IN / ROTATION label with his latest single. “Paco” is a hypnotic groover deriving most of its inertia from Latin elements. The track revolves around sweeping tremolo Spanish guitar licks, thumping drums, tight percussive swings, and a silky humming vocal hook tying everything together.

RIORDAN speaks on his breaking out of his comfort zone during the production process, saying: “As my discography shows, I have an affinity for Latin samples, but rarely use guitar as the focal point of a track, so it was very fun to make. I tried to be original and experiment with looping, and the way the guitar riff flows into the drop. It took a while after that to perfect it, but it’s been ripping up my sets ever since!”

Originally making a splash on his socials during Lockdown, Riordan first started to gain recognition from his unique mashups and bootleg remixes of often Latin-inspired tracks. Since then, he has garnered more than 149K followers and 3.6M likes across his videos on TikTok. His previous singles “No Hablo Espanol” and “Reflection” have amassed 2.1M and 1.2M streams, respectively, and his most recent claim to fame arrived in the form of his weighty house collab alongside “La Samba” alongside the Divided Souls head honcho, Wax Motif.

With a deep appreciation for Latin influences, Riordan is letting his new single “Paco” out into the wild on the festive Mexican holiday, Cinco de Mayo.

PERRY WAYNE RUNS WILD WITH EVER-EVOLVING DUBSTEP SINGLE "FREESTYLE" ON GUD VIBRATIONS

Perry Wayne makes a massive return to NGHTMRE and SLANDER’s Gud Vibrations imprint with the ever-evolving and aptly titled single “Freestyle.” The track serves as a direct follow-up to his recent ‘Rise of the Enterprise’ EP, which marked his third project with the label.

For his latest creative export, Perry Wayne took a more laid-back approach to writing, allowing the creativity to flow. Reflected in the title and the overall direction, “Freestyle” moves fluently from cinematic and vibe-filled to all-out madness. Retro synths provide a mysterious sci-fi aesthetic in both the opening and breaks, while distorted guitar riffs and pitched-down rap vocals inject a menacing edge. The drops are devised for pure devastation, mixing screeching industrial sound design, destructive laser synths, and pounding bass punches. The pitched vocals serve to provide a human twist amidst the robotic chaos. “Freestyle” continues Perry Wayne’s conquest for dubstep domination with the level of lethal force he’s become synonymous with.

Perry Wayne reflects on the stream of consciousness creative process that brought the track to life saying, “I wrote ‘Freestyle’ just trying to freestyle around in my DAW, trying to be more creative and try things I haven't before!”

The Dallas-based artist is currently on a run of North American tour dates, which include headline shows in Tampa, Salt Lake City, New Orleans, and more to be announced.
