JEFFREY JAMES SHARES NEW EP 'SONGS I FOUND IN THE YEAR I LOST'

Today, Nashville-based singer and songwriter Jeffrey James shares his new EP, 'Songs I Found In The Year I Lost.' Pulling from a mix of new collaborations, forgotten demos, and previously unreleased songs, the EP is a melodically sophisticated collection of 5 tracks that showcase Jeffrey’s rich vocals, narrative-driven lyricism, and cinematic instrumentation.

Explaining how this record came to fruition, Jeffrey says, “2020 by all accounts should have been a big year for me. I released my ‘East London’ EP and was featured on NBC’s Songland. However, instead of touring and promoting my new music, I (like everyone else) was forced to stay home with nothing to do but sit in my studio, work and think.” Gripped by restlessness while suddenly housebound at the start of the pandemic, Jeffrey escaped into writing, creating and working remotely with collaborators spanning LA, London and Nashville. Out of those sessions came “Sober,” “Making It Up” and “Small Talk."

The other two songs featured on the record are “In The Back of My Mind” and “We Can Be Heroes," both of which were written pre-pandemic but had previously been overlooked for other projects. “We Can Be Heroes” was given new life after Jeffrey featured on NBC’s Songland in early 2020; his performance of the powerful pop ballad was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from both the show’s judges and the at-home audience.

'Songs I Found In The Year I Lost' Track List:
1 - Sober
2 - Making It Up
3 - In The Back Of My Mind
4 - Small Talk
5 - We Can Be Heroes

Jeffrey James is an eclectic pop singer-songwriter based in Nashville, Tennessee. Pairing rich vocals, R&B stylings and reflective lyricism, he creates svelte, brooding tracks that provide deep introspection on the human experience. Since his first project, the 2016 Walls EP, Jeffrey has continued to explore his sound and challenge himself to discover exactly what kind of artist he wants to be. In 2020, Jeffrey released his sophomore EP, East London, a project that took him to London for a month in search of collaborators who could challenge him artistically and help hone a sound that resonates with listeners around the globe.

Jeffrey’s music has been used in ads for Xbox Game Pass and Ford and has been featured in numerous TV shows and films including All-American, Jack Ryan, iZombie, Criminal Minds, Good Trouble and Shameless, among others. He’s amassed millions of streams across his repertoire and tastemakers like Billboard, 1883 Magazine, and EARMILK have taken note. In addition to his own releases, Jeffrey has also become a coveted songwriter, penning tracks for artists like Megan Davies, Tungeaag & Raaban, and Matstubs.

O’FLYNN DELIVERS RAPTUROUS REMIX OF VANCOUVER PRODUCER, TOR’S ‘LENS’ RELEASED AHEAD OF UPCOMING OASIS SKY REMIX LP FEATURING CATCHING FLIES, O’FLYNN, FEJKÁ, APARDE, AND MORE, OUT EARLY 2022

Vancouver-based electronic producer Tor returns following the April release of his most recent album Oasis Sky with a rework of his atmospheric single ‘Lens,’ courtesy of the esteemed English producer O’Flynn. The remix serves as the second release off of Tor’s forthcoming remix LP of Oasis Sky, featuring exclusive remixes from the likes of Catching Flies, Fejká, Aparde, and more. Oasis Sky has seen well over 6,000,000 streams across platforms, and widespread international radio play from BBC Radio 1, NPR, Sirius XM Chill, and KCRW, not to mention editorial support from LA Weekly, Dancing Astronaut, EARMILK, and more. O’Flynn’s ‘Lens’ remix is out now across all streaming platforms via Tor’s own imprint, Eleuthera, and precedes the release of the Oasis Sky Remix LP, out early 2022.

Taking the more downtempo, tranquil sensibilities of the original track, O’Flynn transforms ‘Lens’ into a more experimental, chopped version. The rework sees the addition of a propulsive bassline, surrounded by floating, warped vocal cuts and layered percussive elements. The hypnotizing rendition adds a new edge to the track, with oscillating synths and transmissible breakbeats. Showcasing the music style of O’Flynn, the rework takes listeners to a sultry sonic atmosphere with heavy drums and willowing synths.

Young DJ and producer O’Flynn has been hailed by Boiler Room as “one of dance music’s most prosperous newcomers” and championed by The Guardian as “dance floor dynamite”. Following his debut in 2015, O’Flynn saw a quick influx of support from established names such as Ben UFO, Giles Peterson, Four Tet, and James Blake. The rising talent has had a number of releases on the seminal dance label Ninja Tune as well as his own imprint Hundred Flowers. Using his newfound success, O'Flynn released his debut album Aletheia in 2019, serving as a celebration of his dextrous production skills and an establishment of his reputation within the dance music scene.

Over the last decade, Tor has been releasing his own unique signature take on electronic music to much critical acclaim. His debut 10-track album Drum Therapy was released in 2012 and was quickly followed up with his sophomore album Blue Book four short years later. Both would go on to receive over 20 million combined streams across all platforms to-date, a highly impressive feat. Over time, the producer has also graced the decks of some of the world’s most renowned events and venues, such as Electric ForestLightning in a Bottle, and the Do-Lab stage at Coachella. Additionally, Tor has been sought out by some of the world’s finest musicians for official remixes, including the likes of RÜFÜS DU SOLODESZACloZee, and Frameworks. With live performances taking a halt, Tor took part in a virtual 2-hour charity live-stream performance via his Twitch channel last July in which all proceeds were donated to Black Lives Matter Vancouver. Earlier this year, Tor treated fans to a new iteration of his renowned mix series, ‘Origins,’ as well as the release of Oasis Sky.

Tor continues to make a name for himself in the world of electronic music and keep listeners on the lookout for more. With the anticipated release of the Oasis Sky Remix LP in early 2022, Tor’s fans can expect a slew of new music in the coming months as the prolific producer is set to take his musical talent to new heights.

GARDENSTATE RELEASE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED DEBUT ALBUM ‘INSPIRATIONS’ OUT ON ANJUNABEATS

“There shouldn't have been a debut album on Anjunabeats, gardenstate shouldn’t have existed, and we should have stuck to our normal day job. This album is to everyone out there who has been told that ‘you can’t do it’.” - gardenstate

Be it through passion, determination, or just sheer stubbornness, gardenstate continues to bloom. A transatlantic labour of love from superproducer Marcus Schössow and club promoter Matt Felner, their debut album ‘Inspirations’ is out now on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats imprint. At the heart of Sweden’s decade-long domination of club music in the 2010s, Marcus’ fifteen-year-long career boasts a smorgasbord of styles. You’ve got electro with ‘Swedish Beatballs’, the mainstage energy of ‘Reverie’ and ‘Ulysses’, and the driving progressive of ‘London / 1985’. Few artists have record sleeves from Axtone, Armada, Size, Spinnin’ and Anjunadeep in their catalogue. Heavily invested in the early 2010’s big room sound, he was a permanent feature in the sets of Swedish House Mafia and Knife Party. New Jersey native Matt Felner gave up his blue-collar job to follow his passion for electronic music. A respected promoter and performer, he’s brought emerging artists to the clubs of New York and the East Coast. In 2008, he toured Marcus Schössow and they became close friends. Eleven years later, and here we are - a hotly tipped duo with a debut artist album on Anjunabeats.

Making music on their own terms, the gardenstate sound is a melting pot of ‘90s trance nostalgia, brooding melodic techno, peak-time breaks and poignant song writing. Few acts can worm their way into the DJ sets of Kölsch, Cristoph, Tiestö and Above & Beyond at the same time. Releases on Joris Voorn’s Spectrum Records and Yotto’s Odd One Out have nurtured an underground following, while reworks of A&B and Gabriel & Dresden have introduced them to the trance and progressive crowd.

Opening track ‘Aurora’, co-produced with Paavo from Above & Beyond and featuring vocals from Nandini Srikar, is a love letter to the life-affirming experience Marcus had playing in India. Paavo’s studio was also the birthplace for ‘Revival’, a collaboration with Gabriel & Dresden, Andy Moor and PROFF, while long-time friends SØNIN and BLR join Marcus and Matt for ‘Koski’. ‘Répondez-moi’, a dance floor reworking of Switzerland’s 2020 Eurovision entry, partners Marcus and Matt with Gjon’s Tears, who finished third in this year’s competition. There’s a heavy breaks influence across the album, including ‘1995’, and BBC Radio 1-endorsed ‘Take Me There’ with GVN, Anjunabeats700th catalogue release.

gardenstate’s debut album ‘Inspirations’ is available now. In addition to their recent Group Therapy 450 live show from the Drumsheds, the boys join Above & Beyond for two sold out Red Rocks shows 21st/22nd October and have also just announced the official ‘Inspirations’ tour dates, as the gardenstate message continues to permeate across the world.
