DISCOVERY PROJECT WINNER OKAYVAL DEBUTS ON INSOMNIAC'S IMPRINT WITH A BOUNCY TECH HOUSE TRACK, "YOU DON'T WANT THIS"

The emerging house producer presents her winning track from the Discovery Project competition hosted at this year’s Project GLOW festival.

Fast-rising producer OKAYVAL is debuting on Insomniac’s Discovery Project imprint with her chunky tech house single, “You Don’t Want This,” releasing June 21st.

You Don’t Want This” is a bouncy tech house track that’s mean and nasty in all the right ways. It’s a brawny, club-ready single marked by slinky basslines, rattling synth

leads, shuffling drums, and a hip-hop-style vocal riddled with unapologetic attitude. The track is the winning submission from the recent Discovery Project DJ / producer competition hosted at Project GLOW Festival. It was hand-selected by guest judge Nostalgix, the spunky house producer, singer, and songwriter who’s been dominating the festival scene. As the newest alum, she earned herself this release on the dedicated Discovery Project label, as well as a performance at the festival this past April.

Discussing the track's creation, OKAYVAL said, “I found myself in a very creative headspace, where I didn’t hold myself back. This is always when my best work is done, especially when trying to blend different genres that are not normally together.”

Originally from Columbia, OKAYVAL moved to the US at the age of 15. Here, she was introduced to the captivating world of electronic music and immediately fell in love with the scene. Now based out of Jacksonville, she has been placing a laser focus on tech house and deep house since launching her project last year.

With her latest release, “You Don’t Want This,” OKAYVAL continues to prove her versatility as a producer, blending different genres and musical elements to create a crowd-tested track ready for the masses.

OKAYVAL, a talented DJ and producer from Jacksonville, Florida has been producing since her early years, showing a wide range of diversity with dance music, tech house, and deep house. Her tracks have been backed and supported by some of the industry's biggest names such as Max Styler.
