Qlank offers a collection of commanding bass house tracks following the EP's lead single
Qlank returns to Insomniac’s offshoot imprint IN / ROTATION on October 15th with his four-track ‘Therapy’ EP. Demonstrating his unrivaled technical skill and mastery
over grimace-inducing low-end, the EP is another exceptional exploration of bass house that is poised to heal the mind, body and soul.
Leading the charge is the EP’s lead single and title track, “Therapy,” a potent bass house track that drew coverage from notable publications including EKM, Find Your Sounds, Sick Music World, and This Song Slaps.
Second in line, “Get Low” is a nasty bass house cut that lands a lethal punch below the belt. Built around guttural vocal loops, the track weaves through remnants of an iconic hip-hop melody. The classic hook is peppered in-between squawking synth shots, chirping accents, bleeping fills, and slinking percussion.
Next up, “Technical” takes its title to heart. Meticulously crafted and hitting with surgical precision, the track features a stone-cold bassline countered by squelching synth accents and an anticipatory, winding build that erupts into an unrelenting
low-end groove. Closing out the project is “Control,” a track with laser-like synth and chopped vocals that shimmer atop a rigid, driving four-on-the-floor rhythm.
“This EP has been in the works for about a year now—probably the longest I’ve held tracks before releasing them,” says Qlank. “I wasn’t sure about them at first with the way the industry has been going but everyone said I need to release them. So thank you to everyone for telling me as they are finally coming out, hahaha.”
Detroit-bred producer Qlank has cemented his status as a staple within the bass house community. Despite already harnessing a world’s worth of street cred to his name, the bassline mastermind continues to defy expectations with his one-of-a-kind approach. Known for going against the grain with quirky, offbeat sound design and muscular low-end, he’s earned widespread radio support from the likes of Martin Garrix, Bijou, Firebeatz, Casmalia, Tomo Hirata. Qlank also recently provided live support for Dr Fresch’s Spring Tour, further solidifying his reputation as one of the most exciting names in the scene.
Qlank is a Detroit bred house artist with his own unique but cohesive style combining bass heavy sounds and traditional house elements. Amongst several self releases, this Icon Collective Graduate has also released on larger labels such as Spinnin Records, Night Bass, Confession, In-Rotation, Box Of Cats, Bite This, Pinnacle Records, Noir
Sur Blanc and World Famous Headquarters proving that his sound is meant to be heard on a more massive scale. Although his roots have been based in house music for many years, his new sound has also been influenced by dark and industrial bass music. With this edgy fusion sound, Qlank is absolutely an artist to be on the look out for!
