CELEBRATES SUCCESSFUL INAUGURAL EDITION
After successfully and safely producing the Roll ’N Rave pod experience in Utah last fall, Mutiny Music Collective returned to their home at Granstville’s Utah Motorsports Campus for Singularity. The three-day festival took place over the weekend of April 30 to May 2, drawing more than 6,000 people together to celebrate the return of live music after a long hiatus from quarantine.
A real community effort, the well-behaved attendees gathered in socially distanced pods while the sun set over the desert mountains to the tunes of Ghost Ryder (Ghastly and JOYRYDE), 12th Planet and NGHTMRE, among other acts throughout the weekend. Undoubtedly a new type of festival experience for everyone, the pod dynamic was well received — and creatively navigated by all. Just like personalizing your campsite at a camping festival, many guests designed their dedicated pods to fit the experience with blow-up couches and mattresses, while others fully decorated their pods with lights, beer pong tables, and tapestries.
“It was really incredible to see the pod experience come to life,” Mutiny Music Collective co-founder Daniel Krotz explains. "Obviously we want to be able to get back to normal shows, but the pods were a unique concert format that most fans hadn’t experienced before. It was a real party and I think we may see a new inclusion of dedicated spaces in shows moving forward across the board. People really love being able to leave their pod, go to the bathroom, and come back to their space without having to squeeze past others to find their friends again.”
In partnership with SoEpic, Mutiny Music Collective gave a few lucky groups of people an experience of a lifetime with the opportunity to watch their favorite artist perform from backstage or being voluntarily upgraded to VIP. Organizers also collaborated with Raveraide, to hand out 10,000 bottles of water and 6,000 Raveraide hydration packets.
Singularity stands as the perfect example of how we can all move forward together safely, marking a huge step in the right direction as we continue to welcome, and experience, the return of live music and festival culture.
