Once a year, an eclectic global tribe is drawn deep into the jungles of Tulum for a ritual where ancient tradition, untamed nature, and the hedonistic pulse of the dancefloor converge. On January 9th, 2027, Damian Lazarus’ Day Zero returns to the grounds where its mythology was first born, carrying revelers from the fading light of dusk through the deepest hours of darkness and into the rising sun. Today, Damian reveals the cast of selectors and live acts from across the global underground who will shape the next chapter of this jungle gathering.
 

Born in 2012 around the completion of the Mayan calendar, Day Zero emerged from the Tulum jungle with a spirit of renewal that continues to define the gathering today. Long before the region became a global destination for electronic music, Day Zero established a blueprint for experiences shaped by the land, culture, and communities around them — bringing Mayan ceremony into dialogue with forward-thinking music, art, and production. That pioneering vision has since traveled far beyond the Yucatán, with Day Zero expanding to Brazil and Bali in 2026, seeking out destinations that can become enduring homes or inspire singular, one-time gatherings while carrying forward the ethos born beneath the Tulum canopy.
 

Guided by Damian Lazarus’ masterful curatorial hand, Day Zero has always found its magic in the collision of sounds, scenes, and generations from across the electronic music spectrum. His 2027 selections continue that tradition, drawing artists from disparate corners of the electronic world into the jungle for a musical journey built on contrast, discovery, and the unexpected. The lineup features Keinemusik visionary &ME, Brazilian powerhouse Vintage Culture, electronic icon Tiga, New York house legend Victor Calderone, Maccabi House co-founder Mita Gami, Mellow Circus founder Brunello, and piano house favorite LP Giobbi. 
 

Reaching further into Damian’s musical world, the billing welcomes French house tastemaker Chloé Caillet, Apollonia co-founder Dan Ghenacia, revered UK digger Jane Fitz, genre-defying live instrumentalist Satori, South African house visionary Culoe De Song, idiosyncratic German producer Robag Wruhme, hypnotic Berlin favorite Mira, Swiss-French artist Deer Jade, and Romanian minimal pioneers RPR Soundsystem, comprised of Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu, and Raresh. Ever committed to uncovering emerging voices and championing the avant-garde, Damian also welcomes London’s Hard Antoine, Tel Aviv riser Rafael, Tulum-based multidisciplinary artist LUM, and rising producer Mary Jane.
 

Deep within the jungle, El Teatro remains a home for the sounds of Mexico’s underground — a tradition born when Day Zero became the first international festival in the country to dedicate an entire stage exclusively to Mexican artists. For 2027, the stage welcomes Chihuahua electronic-funk outfit Midnight Generation, Mexican house prodigy KinAhau, Tijuana house and techno duo Soul of Hex, and Crosstown Rebels-signed supergroup Secret Echoes (Live), comprised of Metrika, Estefani Brolo, and Balcazar. The stage continues with dark-edged Mexican producer BadWolf, Mexico City electronic explorer Antaares, Tulum-based selector Jawar, live electronic artist Johnny Chief, and underground selector Katana — together tracing the depth, experimentation, and evolution of Mexico’s electronic music culture.
 

Yet Tulum remains the source, and Day Zero’s relationship with the land extends far beyond its dancefloors. Through Crosstown Consciousness, Damian and the Day Zero team continue to support the surrounding community and environment with initiatives ranging from solar-powered street lights throughout Dos Ojos and turtle conservation along Tulum’s coastline to beach cleanups and the restoration of various educational buildings in the area with blocks made from sargassum. Since 2022, Day Zero has also worked with Mexican company PETGAS to transform festival plastic waste into biodegradable fuel used to help power onsite infrastructure, alongside extensive recycling systems and a strict no single-use plastics policy across the grounds.
 

Day Zero’s connection to Tulum also remains rooted in respect for the cultural and spiritual heritage of the region. Working closely with local Mayan leaders, the festival incorporates traditional ceremony throughout the experience, honoring the traditions and land that have surrounded Day Zero since its beginning.
 

On January 9th, Damian Lazarus once again calls his global tribe back beneath the jungle canopy, returning to the source for another journey from darkness into daylight.

RAFAEL CERATO DEBUTS ON DRUMCODE WITH ‘RIGHT NOW’

Esteemed French producer Rafael Cerato marks the latest major milestone in his career with his long-awaited debut on Adam Beyer's iconic Drumcode imprint, joining forces with New York techno heavyweight Charles D for their collaborative single 'Right Now'. The track lands on July 31 as part of Drumcode's DC4 Vol. 5 compilation, placing Cerato alongside one of electronic music's most influential labels for the first time.

Built around driving percussion, old school vocal chops and relentless peak-time energy, Right Now brings together two artists known for crafting music designed for the biggest stages. Rafael Cerato's signature blend of groove, tension and melodic atmosphere meets Charles D's powerful techno aesthetic, resulting in a track that commands attention from the off.

The release arrives during what has become Cerato's most prolific and high-profile year to date. In recent months, he has delivered standout releases across some of dance music's most respected imprints, including Catch & Release (FISHER), When Stars Align (CamelPhat), belonging (Innellea), Ultra Records and REALM Records. His momentum has also been fuelled by a collaboration with legendary Italian producer Benny Benassi on Ultra Records, as well as an official remix of Michael Bibi's acclaimed single Different Side.

A long-standing figure within the underground scene, Rafael Cerato has spent over a decade building a reputation as one of electronic music's most consistent and forward-thinking artists. Having shared the booth with Solomun early in his career and collaborated with artists including ARTBAT, he has helped shape the groove-led sound that continues to dominate dance floors today. Now based between Marseille and Ibiza, his productions sit at the crossroads of Tech House and Indie Dance, earning support from leading names including Solomun, FISHER, CamelPhat, Tiësto, Vintage Culture, Chris Lake, Mau P, MEDUZA, David Guetta and Benny Benassi.

With Right Now, Rafael Cerato further underlines his place among electronic music's most exciting producers. As his biggest year yet continues to unfold, the release signals another significant step in an already remarkable run of career-defining records.

INNELLEA DROPS ‘BOUNCE MUSIC’, ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL HEELYS® COLLABORATION

Continuing a year of creative reinvention built around freedom, satire and a renewed focus on the dancefloor, the new single arrives alongside a humorous new music video revealing Innellea’s official collaboration with iconic footwear brand Heelys®

In the midst of a year of creative reinvention, German artist Innellea returns with Bounce Music, a new single arriving on 31 July via his label belonging. The release is accompanied by a tongue-in-cheek music video that officially unveils Innellea’s unexpected collaboration with long-standing footwear brand Heelys, following his now-iconic appearance at EDC Las Vegas wearing the footwear brand’s signature shoes.

The video continues to expand on the world that has been developing around Innellea in recent months. Beginning with the unveiling of Bounce Music on a physical CD, the story follows Innellea as his manager introduces a new branded project and presents custom-designed Heelys as the latest evolution of the artist. What follows is a deliberately exaggerated take on the machinery surrounding modern music culture, as Innellea is put through a fictional “Heely Show Simulator” designed to test whether he can perform at the highest level while rolling across the stage.

Through absurd performance metrics, corporate language and an intentionally over-the-top approach to artist branding, the video plays with the expectations placed on musicians today, where identity, visibility and commercial partnerships have become increasingly intertwined with the music itself. At the same time, it reflects a broader shift in Innellea’s creative world: one where humour, spontaneity and personality are embraced rather than hidden.

The Heelys collaboration grew totally unexpectedly from this new chapter. What began as an off-the-cuff moment of playfulness on stage at EDC Las Vegas has since developed into an official partnership with the iconic US footwear brand, becoming a symbol of the more open and instinctive approach that has shaped Innellea’s recent work.

This creative direction follows the release of Slave To The Hype, which marked an important turning point in Innellea’s process. Arriving as both a critique of the pressures surrounding modern electronic music and a personal reset, the single opened up a wider conversation around expectations, visibility and the constant pressure for artists to remain relevant in an increasingly digital landscape. Since then, Innellea has continued to move forward without being restricted by previous definitions of what his music or identity should be. 

Rather than embracing the seriousness, ego and rigid expectations that have increasingly surrounded parts of electronic music culture, he has created a world built around humour, openness and experimentation. Through this evolving character and creative universe, Innellea challenges the idea that an artist must always appear in a certain way, instead celebrating a more human and playful approach where personality and individuality become part of the music itself.

For belonging, the single strengthens the label’s evolving identity. Rooted in contemporary electronic music while remaining open to experimentation, the imprint continues to champion records that prioritise energy, emotion and movement. Bounce Music reflects this direction: club-focused, stripped back and uncompromising, while still carrying the emotional intensity that has always been central to Innellea’s work.

With the release of Bounce Music, Innellea continues to explore a new creative space; one where music, humour and individuality can exist alongside each other. At its core though, the single returns to the reason electronic music has always mattered: the shared experience of the dancefloor.
