MITCH OLIVER RETURNS TO SLAPPED WITH ‘LET YOU GO’ FT. KEILIMEI

The Canadian label head returns with his latest original production, joined by a remix from Berlin-based DJ and producer Yulia Niko.

Following the release of its summer VA À Fleur de Son, Montréal-based imprint SLAPPED Records now turns the spotlight back to label founder Mitch Oliver with the release of his latest single, Let You Go. Featuring vocals from Hawaiian singer-songwriter Keilimei and a standout remix from Berlin-based producer Yulia Niko, the release brings together two distinct interpretations of a track built around emotion, groove and club functionality.

Let You Go continues the creative connection between Oliver and Keilimei, following their previous collaborations Paris Lovin’ with Tyler Mesa and Under The Moonlight  in 2025. With previous releases on respected imprints including Purified Records and Anjunadeep, Keilimei brings her emotive vocal style to the record, adding warmth and depth to Oliver’s latest production. Built around a rolling low end, restrained percussion and spacious melodic details, Let You Go explores the space between melodic songwriting and club functionality. Keilimei’s vocal sits at the centre of the arrangement, bringing an emotional depth that balances the track’s understated groove.

As both a producer and the founder of SLAPPED Records, Oliver has built the label around music that favours individuality over convention, championing records that leave an impression through groove, atmosphere and careful execution. Let You Go sits naturally within that philosophy, pairing understated songwriting with a refined club sensibility.

On remix duties, and available from July 24, internationally celebrated artist Yulia Niko brings a fresh perspective to the record, transforming the original into a more up-tempo, driving interpretation. Preserving the emotional core of Keilimei’s vocal, her remix introduces sharper rhythmic movement, hypnotic melodic layers and increased dancefloor momentum, offering a more energetic counterpart to Oliver’s original.

The release follows a busy period for SLAPPED Records, which has continued to expand through a steady stream of releases and an international event series. BOARDMASTERS FESTIVAL BACKS OCEANA’S CALL FOR BETTER PROTECTION FOR OCEAN SANCTUARIES

Boardmasters joins forces with Oceana and Falmouth University students to campaign for a ban on destructive bottom trawling in UK marine protected areas

Oceana is the official environmental partner of Boardmasters, Cornwall’s own surf and music festival which, since its inception, has proudly called the Cornish coast home. Under the partnership the two organisations join forces to raise awareness and take action with a collective goal of protecting the ocean and coastlines. 

This year, Boardmasters is taking its commitment a step further by backing an end to destructive fishing in marine protected areas. As part of this initiative, Boardmasters and Oceana are working with local Falmouth University arts students to create original protest art calling for true protection, which will be displayed at The View stage during the festival. 

The urgency of this call is underscored by the fact that the marine protected area off Newquay, Cornwall, where the festival is held, suffered 2,494 hours of apparent bottom trawling in 2025. This destructive form of fishing, which is permitted by the government in this MPA year-round, effectively bulldozes the seabed and scoops up almost all life in its path.

Sustainability and environmental awareness has been a part of Boardmasters’ ethos since the beginning. Over the years, Boardmasters has taken industry-leading steps to reduce its impact on the local environment, working with leading consultants and innovative organisations,  as well as introducing tangible initiatives to drive real results, including the festival’s Green Pledge and #LeaveOnlyFootprints campaign. Each year, Boardmasters conducts an impact report to monitor, learn and improve. 

Now, through collaboration with organisations like Oceana, they are continuing this work to make Boardmasters one of the most environmentally conscious and low-impact festivals out there.

MINISTRY OF SOUND LAUNCHES ‘LAST ORDERS’, A NEW IMMERSIVE DINING EXPERIENCE FEATURING MICHELIN-STARRED CHEF BRAD CARTER AND DJ RALPH LAWSON

The five-course dinner traces three decades of house music through food and sound, celebrating the club's 35th anniversary.

This September, Ministry of Sound will launch Last Orders, a one-of-a-kind dining experience transforming its legendary dancefloor into a sensory feast in celebration of the club’s rich 35-year history. 

The first edition will take place on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th. Inspired by the club’s anniversary, it sees Michelin-starred chef Brad Carter and renowned DJ Ralph Lawson guiding guests through three decades of house music via a curated five-course menu in the heart of the nightclub.

Beginning in Chicago with an elevated take on the city's iconic deep-dish pizza, a nod to the birthplace of house music, the menu is a playful journey through the sounds, cities and late-night food cultures that shaped the genre. Highlights include a deep-dish pizza filled with braised squid and spicy nduja, a New York-inspired lobster and prawn roll that fuses the classic East Coast favourite with Cantonese-style prawn toast, and a refined interpretation of the legendary Berlin lamb kebab, inspired by the city's after-hours food scene and reimagined as a fine-dining tribute to one of electronic music's spiritual homes.

As each course unfolds, Ralph Lawson charts the evolution of house music through perfectly timed Chicago, Balearic and UK house tracks, tracing a musical journey from Ministry of Sound's roots in New York's legendary venue, Paradise Garage, through to the present day as it marks its 35th anniversary.

Having spent his life pursuing his two passions, cooking and raving, Chef Brad Carter is a self-taught chef who built his reputation doing things differently. Carter is known for his ingredient-led approach to modern British cuisine and his ability to tell stories through food, ultimately earning a Michelin star at his restaurant Carters of Moseley in Birmingham, UK.

Carter says: "We will be bringing big energy to this iconic dancefloor in the form of a specially curated menu inspired by the greatest cultural scene that shaped me and many others since 1991."

Equally renowned in his industry, Ralph Lawson, is one of the UK’s most respected house DJs. Having spent more than three decades behind the decks himself, Lawson is widely considered a pioneering figure of UK house music, known for his eclectic deep cuts and playful style, blending Chicago house, techno, disco, funk and more.

Lawson says: "We set out to create a menu and soundtrack that worked in perfect harmony while celebrating 35 years of the club's history. With fond memories of coming to Ministry of Sound as a clubber myself, it's a real pleasure to return to The Box and tell that story through music."

Launching with a celebration of Ministry of Sound's 35th anniversary, Last Orders is a new dining series that will return with future editions bringing together different chefs, DJs and themes, creating original collaborations between music and food. 

Tickets are priced at £250 per person and include a five-course tasting menu, cocktail pairings and an intimate post-dinner Ralph Lawson DJ set.
