FREQUENT COLLABORATORS BARON (FR), MOORI, MESSINA, AND MEL BUNDO RELEASE INDIE DANCE CLUB TUNE "COMPASS" VIA IN / ROTATION

The four French producers create palpable synergy for their debut offering on Insomniac’s sub-label, a moody, club-focused indie dance cut built for late-night floors.

Baron (FR), Moori, Messina, and Mel Bundo combine strengths for their new single, releasing on January 13th via Insomniac’s IN / ROTATION imprint. “Compass” is an indie dance club record that gravitates toward the French producers’ shared attraction to vibrant, percussive-driven music.

Compass” features four groove specialists known for having their own distinct directions, aligning on a record that sees them pointing to their true north as house producers. Deep, rolling basslines and tightly coiled drums create a magnetic field for the collab, which navigates through a host of compelling components that enter and exit the focus masterfully. Spanish-sung vocal hook, jazzy brass fills, sustained string pads, and sporadic detuned sawtooth sequences are the markers keeping the track on pace and everchanging. The result is a late-night cut that carefully balances sophistication with an undeniable dancefloor pull.

Based in Paris, Baron (FR) is a house producer whose global sound exudes a seductive allure. He’s gained significant traction for creating refined, crowd-pleasing rhythms informed by his affinity for indie dance, jazz, and deep house. Along with a previous collaboration with Mel Bundo, Baron has worked alongside artists including AMÉMÉ, Darmon, Dorian Craft, Jaalex, and Nico de Andrea. His releases have earned tastemaker support from Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Adam Ten, Jamie Jones, WhoMadeWho, Seth Troxler, and RÜFÜS DU SOL. Baron also has a string of high-profile headline shows lined up at Rainbow Café, Magic Carpet Tulum, The Arcade (Washington, D.C.), Baïes Courchevel, and KOKO London.

Also based in Paris, Moori is an emerging name in house music. In 2024, the fledgling artist kickstarted his career with a captivating melodic house & techno offering entitled “Just Nudes.” It was a remarkable debut, quickly establishing himself as an artist to watch with natural instincts for emotive songwriting and sleek, forward-thinking production.

Fellow Frenchman Messina has spent the last year crafting a sound that bridges deep house, indie dance, and minimal tech. With a growing catalog of groove-driven dating back to the top of 2025, the rising producer has been off to a phenomenal start. He’s also been hitting his stride alongside Mel Bundo, with two recent collabs “Chicago” and “Groove Thang.”

Based in Miami, Mel Bundo is a French house producer building a name for himself with smooth, club-ready cuts that combine influences from indie dance and deep house. His involvement here is perhaps one that closes the one-degree of separation between each of the collaborators, considering he’s previously dropped singles separately with each of the three names prior. His music has been gaining support from Pete Tong, mOat, Aiwaska, Luch, and AmyElle.

Together, the four artists channel their unique styles and varying sonic directions into one cohesive club track. “Compass” is a compelling debut entry for them onto Insomniac’s IN / ROTATION catalog, an indie dance groove that continues to expand their presence around the world.

LUCA LUSH AND WATER SPIRIT REUNITE ON UNCOMPROMISING HARD TECHNO OFFERING "DEFAULT DAMAGER" VIA BASSCON RECORDS

The two LA-based producers reunite on a haunting hard techno cut built for the underground and festival stages alike.

American hard dance innovators Luca Lush and Water Spirit team up for their new single for Basscon Records. Slated to drop on January 16th, “Default Damager” is a brutish hard techno collab that amplifi es their connection to controlled chaos.

Heart-pounding techno of the highest order, “Default Damager” is an underground off ering poised to leave a trail of devastation in its wake. Hard, heavy and in a constant state of fl ux, the high-tempo cut is composed in such a way that every phase feels like a blindside. It’s fueled by lightning-fast kicks, harrowing vocal screams, machine-gun fi lls, haunting metallic clanks, shrieking synth hits, heavily distorted low-end, and an entrancing melody line that rounds out the rough edges. The single showcases their shared reverence for uncontrollable rave energy, which the pairing fi rst demonstrated on their previous 2024 collaboration, “FANGS!”

Speaking to the rapport and synergy that gives their single its secret sauce, Luca Lush says, “Water Spirit and I are quite harmonic in our creative ideation, while also being friends. It made sense for us to get into the studio and make something explosive and energetic that will ignite dancefl oors and festivals around the world.” Breaking down the eruptive nature of the track, Water Spirit adds: “I really loved creating with Luca Lush, and I think the result is chaotic and brutal, which is exactly what hard techno should be.”

Dwelling amongst LA’s underground scene, Luca Lush is a producer hellbent on challenging the status quo. His catalog is a conjuring of gritty, industrial-laced hard techno and hard dance—especially via the uncompromising output of his Techno Demon 64 alias. His sets are equally electrifying, recently inciting a craze during his b3b set alongside Clawz and Casska at Escape Psycho Circus. He’s currently ripping through a run of dates including stops at Avalon Hollywood, The Rink Studios, and Substation.

LA-based producer Water Spirit has been making tidal waves within the hard dance scene for the better part of the last decade. Embracing radical self-acceptance and steadfast authenticity are qualities that emanate from depths of her hardcore and techno productions. She has established herself a regular Basscon fi xture since 2021, with her most recent track “REZURRECTION 2007” pulling coverage from Find Your Sounds and 7clouds Hardstyle. She has released tracks alongside heavy-hitters such as Lil Texas and Must Die!, and has previously performed at EDC Las Vegas, Escape, Summoning of the Eclipse, and North Coast. With “Default Damager,” the two US-based artists continue to push hard techno to its limits with a fearless single that propels Luca Lush and Water Spirit further down their path of destruction.

Since 2020, Luca Lush has embarked on an unstoppable ascent, emerging as one of the most thrilling names in the hard techno underground. Based in Los Angeles, this "Techno Demon" has carved a unique niche, with a sound that defi es genre boundaries, weaving together techno, hard dance, and industrial infl uences to create an intense and atmospheric experience.

Reemerging post-pandemic with a renewed sense of purpose, Luca took his music to unconventional, often gritty locations, performing under freeways, in sewers, and even abandoned power plants. These raw, dystopian settings amplify the dark energy of his sound, embodying a visceral response to the chaotic landscapes of late-stage capitalism. His high-energy performances in these unexpected spaces captivated audiences, while his presence on short-form social media has fueled a massive following that thrives on his unconventional approach.

With notable releases on esteemed labels like Barong Family, Group Chat, DSR Digital, and Agony, Luca continues to make waves with each hard-hitting track. His distinct sound and style have earned him the support of underground heavyweights such as Trym, Lee Ann Roberts, & Omaks, cementing his reputation as a pioneer within the scene.

Luca has captivated audiences at major events like Lightning in a Bottle, Entourage Fest, and Countdown NYE, where his energy is nothing short of contagious. Sharing stages with some of the most respected names in the industry-Oguz, Alt-8, Triptykh, Drakk, Hellbound!, Clawz, Vendex, JSTJR, and Marie Vaunt-he's proven himself a force to be reckoned with, both in intimate underground gatherings and on festival stages.

By transforming unconventional spaces into the backdrop for his performances, Luca Lush has become a compelling symbol of hard techno's rebellious spirit, delivering a raw, immersive experience that goes far beyond music alone.
