SIMINA GRIGORIU RETURNS TO DRUMCODE LTD WITH ‘DIVINE ASSIGNMENT’ EP

OUT NOW ON ALL STREAMING PLATFORMS

Following the success of her 2024-released ‘Declare Me’ EP on Drumcode LTD, Simina Grigoriu returns to the label with ‘Divine Assignment’, a four-track body of work that captures her ongoing evolution as one of Berlin’s most precise and purposeful techno producers. Where ‘Declare Me’ was assertive and driving, ‘Divine Assignment’ feels more expansive and sculpted - a release that channels raw rhythmic energy through a framework of clarity, tension and spatial awareness. It’s the sound of an artist refining her identity while keeping the intensity that has always defined her sets and productions.

The title track ‘Divine Assignment’ opens with immediate propulsion - a stripped yet muscular groove built around agile percussion and fragmented vocal cuts that flicker through the mix like sparks. Its rhythm feels alive and alert, a study in forward motion that nods to early warehouse sensibilities while remaining unmistakably modern. ‘Layers Of Reality’ storms ahead with a relentless pulse, its fast tempo and intricate percussion interweaving like machinery in motion. Metallic shards and jittering patterns collide, propelling the track with kinetic energy that leaves no space untouched.

The EP’s third offering ‘Love Honey’ leans into groove and swing, its percussive flow interwoven with subtle melodic fragments that ripple beneath the surface. There’s a warmth to it - a sense of ease that contrasts beautifully with the EP’s harder edges. Finally, ‘Shatter Pattern’ closes the EP with lively, fractured percussion and a rolling energy that feels spacious and dynamic. Its rhythmic interplay leaves room to breathe, unfolding with intricate layers and evolving textures that keep the listener engaged until the last beat. Together, these tracks form a narrative that’s cohesive yet dynamic - four interconnected expressions of rhythm and restraint.

Across more than a decade of production and performance, Simina Grigoriu has cultivated a sonic signature that bridges physical power and cerebral detail. As the founder of Kuukou Records, she continues to champion forward-thinking techno while carving her own path as both curator and creator. ‘Divine Assignment’ stands as another marker in her ongoing trajectory - a release that reaffirms her technical finesse, artistic discipline and commitment to a sound that’s as driven as it is deeply human.

SHKOON SHARES ‘TIRED WAY’, A STIRRING INTRODUCTION TO THEIR DEBUT ALBUM ‘TRACES’

The German-Syrian duo introduces their debut album ‘TRACES’ with its first single, out now via MDLBEAST Records.

German-Syrian duo Shkoon continues to tap into the greatness of musical storytelling with ‘Tired Way’, their latest single and the first taste of their forthcoming debut album ‘TRACES’. Rather than bursting through the door with inundated energy, the new release leans into something far more compelling, channeling nuanced production and emotional cues into a tale that fuses two worlds: the weight of trying to find your place in life and the quiet drama of the dancefloor. Brought to life with lyrics from the Syrian coast–based poet Hussein Hamza, 'Tired Way' is the first chapter in Shkoon's full-length story.

'Tired Way' works because Shkoon use restraint as a narrative tool. A central piano motif lingers, setting the stage for Ameen’s vocal to act as the track’s emotional hinge. The lyrics circle around a certain feeling that most people know intimately: walking a path that feels familiar but is no longer comforting, dwelling on the uncertainty of where to go next. What makes this chapter even more resonant is its origin: the track is based on a poem by Syrian writer Hussein Hamza, who—like Ameen—comes from Syria’s coastal region. Ameen spent much of his youth there, studying, growing up, and eventually being imprisoned as a political activist opposing the regime. This place, and this poem, are part of his story.

The poem reflects the emotional fatigue of not knowing where to go next — the heaviness of always moving forward — while also remembering the lightness of childhood and how easily it’s lost. Its final line, “Let us remain young,” becomes a quiet call to hold onto that innocence, to protect what gives us hope and softness in hard times. ‘Tired Way’ carries that memory forward.

Sonically, 'Tired Way' carries the calm confidence of an act that doesn’t just know the story they’re trying to tell, but has lived it. Harmonies drift in and out with a quiet persistence, creating a mix that feels alive while still affording the listener room to breathe. It's clear that Shkoon lets their heritage shape their craft, with faint echoes of Middle Eastern folk intermingling with elements of organic house.

Yet even with a sound that feels fully realized, 'Tired Way' only scratches the surface. In March, the duo promises to dive even deeper into their shared story with ‘TRACES’, marking their most revealing body of work so far.'

Tired Way' is out now via MDLBEAST Records, with the full album landing March 2026.

MATHAME ANNOUNCES FIRST CHAPTER OF NEOLOGY WITH A SHOW IN BEIRUT

Following the recent announcement of Mathame’s new chapter in their creative universe, NEOLOGY, the duo now reveals a show to kick things off. On December 27, they will take the stage in Beirut, Lebanon, for a spectacular performance. NEOLOGY fuses sound, story, and cinematic design, coming to life for the first time on stage and marking the launch of the project’s first chapter.

This new chapter will officially come to life on December 27, when Mathame present NEOLOGY Chapter I in Beirut — the first-ever live performance dedicated to the saga. The show will mark the global debut of NEOLOGY as an immersive visual experience, projecting the beginning of the storyline through Mathame’s signature audiovisual language.

As Mathame describe it: “NEOLOGY is the narrative universe behind our festival-scale NEO show — a world where the audience doesn’t just watch, but becomes part of the story. It explores humanity’s relationship with natural and artificial intelligence, touching on themes like quantum computing, bioethics, hacking, and the cultural value of sound, liberation, and rebellion. In this dystopian future, people are losing their ability to feel, overwhelmed by constant neural stimulation.

Anyone who enters NEO becomes a rebel in this new world. For us, NEO is a celebration of a possible ‘emo-technology’ — a space where human emotion and technological advancement collide. This idea is embodied in NEO, the meditating cyborg who stands as a guardian of humanity.”

With NEOLOGY, Mathame invite listeners deeper into their world, where electronic music becomes mythology and live performance becomes a gateway into a fully realized cinematic future.

Mathame, the Italian brothers Amedeo and Matteo Giovanelli, are pioneers of EmoTech – a movement where emotional storytelling meets futuristic sound and technology. Shaped by a background in classical music, hip-hop, and cinema, they create immersive productions that blend melodic techno with cinematic depth.

Their debut album MEMO introduced NEO, a monumental art project and narrative world representing a new ritual of sound and light. Its story unfolds through NEOLOGY, a parallel audiovisual show – a non-linear, anime-inspired film projected during their live performances. Together, NEO and NEOLOGY form a unified universe exploring the sacred, the futuristic, and the emotional.

With innovations like Old Neural Mixtape Vol.1 — an AI-powered project for Apple’s M1 chip that reimagined DJ mixing and evolved into a groundbreaking 3D live show — Mathame continue to blur the boundaries between music, technology, and immersive art. From their BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix of the Year to performances at Tomorrowland, Coachella, and Hï Ibiza, they stand as visionary storytellers.
