EDX RELEASES STUNNING NEW CLUB RECORD ‘VOMMULI’ OUT NOW VIA PINKSTAR RECORDS

Currently in the midst of his biggest tour of the USA in over two years – a run which sees him take on over a dozen headline shows across the length and breadth of the United States in just under two months – iconic Swiss hit-machine and formidable label head, EDX, now continues his hugely prolific run of studio form with the announcement of his latest sure-fire dancefloor hit Vommuli.

Out today, August 20, via the most club-leaning imprint in his locker – PinkStar Records – Vommuli sees EDX explore a much more euphoric, underground timbre than we’ve become accustomed to, capitalising on his hugely diverse production credentials to deliver one of his most rapturous, club-ready records of late. A perfectly judged, slow burning melodic house cut with the sort of spine-tingling harmonies up top that really send crowds wild, broad synths and luscious bass add colour and warmth to ensure this one lingers long in the memory.

An ode to the reopening of dancefloors around the world, this record symbolises everything fans have been missing since the pandemic put a halt to international touring back in March 2020, as EDX dials up the groove and sets the tone for the rest of the year.

Speaking about the single EDX commented:

“It’s absolutely fantastic to be back on the road and touring properly after so many months of uncertainty. I’m currently on one of my biggest tours of USA in years and I’m absolutely relishing every moment of being back behind the decks, in front of so many happy, smiling faces. Vommuli is a record which I created especially for this particular moment – a moment that seemed so far away for so long, but one which was certainly worth the wait.”

STELIOS VASSILOUDIS RELEASES CHARITABLE SINGLE "NOTHING WILL EVER BE THE SAME" TO AID THOSE AFFECTED BY THE EUROPEAN WILDFIRES

100% OF FUNDS DONATED TO HELLENIC RED CROSS

NATIVE INSTRUMENTS OFFER TRAKTOR CONTROLLER PRIZES TO HIGHEST BANDCAMP DONATORS

Esteemed Athens-based musician Stelios Vassiloudis reacts to the current raging wildfires with his charitable single ‘Nothing Will Ever Be The Same’. All proceeds from the release will be donated to the Hellenic Red Cross in a concerted effort to aid those currently affected by the European wildfires. A commentary on the destruction that Stelios has seen first hand in his home country as well as across the continent, his latest piece of work instills a contemplative tone that hopes to serve as a call to action for the industry. Released alongside a stirring visual accompaniment ‘Nothing Will Ever Be The Same’ is available to purchase now on Bedrock’s Beatport and Bandcamp pages: https://bedrockrecords.bandcamp.com/

The cinematic offering opens with a low, rumbling static, evoking a palpable tension that builds upon itself with each passing second. The elongated, melancholic soundscapes incite raw emotion in the listener with striking effect, and are quickly paired alongside various instrumentation. Halfway into the approximately six-and-a-half minute composition, a propelling beat is introduced into the space and its overall pace quickens, all whilst maintaining its uniquely ethereal sonic flair. The end of Vassiloudis’ latest electronic opus is characterized by its pensive sensibilities, leaving nothing but sheer awe and reflection in its wake.

“I often hope that this shared crisis we face as a species might spur the much-needed impetus for (many of) us to see things differently. To become more appreciative and aware of the world beyond our own selfish and narrow confines. To wonder why this was all happening and how we should do things from now on. Perhaps even to learn to transcend our own interests and strive for the benefits of others, on occasion.” - Stelios Vassiloudis

ABOUT THE RELEASE, FIRES, & HELLENIC RED CROSS DONATIONS -- Stelios Vassiloudis’ latest endeavor is intrinsically tied to the utmost concern he carries for the wellbeing of the world. After recently watching the horrors of his homebase in Athens, Greece go up in flames, the talent decided to create positive, lasting change with his latest release, ‘Nothing Will Ever Be The Same’. All proceeds from Bandcamp donations will go to the Hellenic Red Cross, who are actively raising funds to aid those affected by these fires. This cause is also being supported by Beatport, who have waived their share of the track’s revenue, as well as Native Instruments, who will be donating various tiers of prizes. The track’s highest donor on Bandcamp will win the grand prize of a Traktor S3 controller and a Bedrock Bunker LED light. Runners-up will receive their choice of either two Traktor X1s, an F1 and a Z1 controller.

WEHBBA TAKES ON MARTIN GORE'S 'CAPUCHIN' OUT NOW ON AS PART OF THE 'THIRD CHIMPANZEE REMIXED' COMPILATION

One of electronic music’s most authentic contemporary voices, Wehbba, returns to the forefront of the release radar with a stunning new edit of Martin Gore’s ‘Capuchin’. The Depeche Mode founder released The Third Chimpanzee EP earlier in the year and now calls upon a select few of the industry’s finest tastemakers to reconceptualize the instinctively dark compositions. Wehbba’s remix of ‘Capuchin’ is out now on Mute as part of The Third Chimpanzee Remixed compilation -- available as a limited edition double coloured vinyl, CD and digitally.

Building on Gore’s hypnotic slow roller, Wehbba indulges in his own sonic identity on this slick rework, giving the measured original a club appropriate revamp. Championing strong, meditative percussion that amplifies that of its predecessor, the cut sits perfectly in both at home listening and dancefloor spaces. With his distinct sound palette on full display, Wehbba tames the modular-synthesizer components for a more controlled approach, all whilst upholding the quirks of its counterpart.

ABOUT WEHBBA -- With a string of chart-topping hits to his name and international success around the world, today Wehbba stands as one of Brazil’s most widely-acclaimed and highly respected global ambassadors for techno. Serving the circuit’s dancefloors with dynamic productions, Wehbba champions a tenacious work ethic that stems from an innate dedication to his craft.

Last year, the Barcelona-based talent marked his third album contribution to date with a critically acclaimed anthology of productions, collectively forming his ‘Straight Lines & Sharp Corners’ LP. Presented as a conceptual study that celebrated the merging of various art forms, its effect was felt throughout the industry, and subsequently its cuts assumed their top charting placements. Pairing the body of work with his first venture into live performances, Wehbba announced his ‘Live Station’ project; centred on a hardware-only setup, he explores the uniquely spontaneous effects of recreating old and new compositions in a live environment. Having debuted the live setup at Montpellier’s Family Picnic in early August with great success, Wehbba now looks ahead to performing his unique live show at both Drumcode’s esteemed ADE party and Adam Beyer presents Drumcode at The Warehouse Project.
