SIMINA GRIGORIU TAPS [ WEX 10 ], FILTERHEADZ AND LILLY PALMER FOR SECOND ROUND OF TECHNO MONKEY REMIXED

TECHNO MONKEY REMIXED VOL. 2

OUT NOW VIA KUUKOU RECORDS

KKU050_Cover.jpg

Following the hugely successful international release of Techno Monkey Remixed Vol. 1 at the beginning of July – an epic package which came complete with a trio of eclectic remixes from Paul Kalkbrenner, Camea and HITO – Kuukou label boss Simina Grigoriu now continues her campaign to further revitalise the 2016 hit record, as she announces the next three artists set to participate in the ongoing studio project.

Out now, Techno Monkey Remixed Vol. 2 sees Simina warmly welcome three of the most exciting names on the European techno circuit right now, as Lilly Palmer, Filterheadz and [ Wex 10 ] each step up to the plate to deliver their own unique interpretations of the hard-hitting original.

First up is rising French techno star [ Wex 10 ]. Following a recent Beatport Top 10 for his topically-titled dancefloor weapon, Crypto, and with a slew of hard-hitting releases clocked on the likes of Odd Recordings, Second State, IAMT and Orange Recordings over the course of his career, the burgeoning young Frenchman now makes his long-overdue Kuukou debut, putting his uniquely dark and techy spin on Grigoriu’s emphatic original.

The middle order sees the introduction of Belgian brothers and Kuukou Records favourites, Filterheadz. Still reeling from their huge remix of Stiv Hey’s Waves Of Light release on Kuukou back in October 2019, Bert and Maarten Wilmaers finally return to continue where they left off, unveiling a remarkable seven-minute warehouse cut replete with intricate drum patterns, warped leads and deep, tripped out vox samples.

Last but by no means least, Simina hands the reigns to Swiss sensation and one of techno’s leading ladies, Lilly Palmer. Having released on some of the biggest labels in electronic music over the past few years, including Drumcode, Octopus Recordings and Senso Sounds (to name but a few), the now Amsterdam-based maven gives one of the performances of her career for her Kuukou debut, as glitchy synths, crisp rhythms and rolling sub-bass combine in perfect accord to close out Vol. 2 in style.

YOUNG BOMBS RELEASE NEW TRACK “SUMMER IN BROOKLYN” FEATURING JORDY OUT NOW ON SONY MUSIC CANADA

Today, Vancouver’s very own Young Bombs team up with Los Angeles singer-songwriter JORDY to release their latest single, “Summer In Brooklyn.” Paying homage to New York City’s most lively borough, full of outgoing people and rich in culture. With that in mind, Young Bombs and JORDY deliver the hottest summer bop anthem. From the catchy chorus, powerful EDM buildup, and lyrics that illustrate the fun of being in a big city, the feel-good track makes you want to get up and dance the night away.

With nearly 100 million streams in four years, the Young Bombs duo of Martin and Tristan cooked up 45 remixes by 2018, and along the way they lent their talents to everyone from Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez, to Billie Eilish and Post Malone. Then in 2019, the duo took a leap of faith to make music for themselves. “Summer In Brooklyn” is the first song the group has released with major label Sony Music.

Tristan explains, “We’d been working on our project all along, but we finally got the sound to the point where we felt like we could make a statement. We were able to make something that spoke to us lyrically, melodically, and emotionally.” Even with the new change, their musical trajectory has only skyrocketed and with their new song, it’s clear that the sound that they have been searching for has been found.

Stay tuned for more music to come from Young Bombs and be sure to check them on tour in the US and Canada this fall.

That leap remains driven by a personal and creative chemistry forged way back in the Vancouver high school where they became best friends. With nearly 100 million streams in four years, the duo have become one of the biggest artists in a short amount of time. In addition, they attracted the support of Tiësto, Oliver Heldens, and Don Diablo. Simultaneously, they graced the stages of blockbuster festivals such as Lollapalooza, Firefly Music Festival, and the Billboard Hot 100 Festival. Not to mention, Young Bombs supported The Chainsmokers, Galantis, R3hab, and Adventure Club on tour around the globe and launched a coveted residency at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas. Now, they have returned with new track “Summer In Brooklyn,” with more music on the way.
