CR: Hello Mow and Owl aka MOLOW, glad to have you on Canadianravers, how are you doing?

M: Always good thx! Of course, we are missing being on tour but there are better days to come!

CR: How did you guys meet?

M:  We have been friends since school

CR: Tell us a little bit of the story behind the recent track ‘I Need A Dollar’, the producing process, as well as the certain connection to the lyrics.

M:  We received a dance version of I need a dollar made by Italian producers Luigi Modolo and Simone Ermacora and we really liked how it sounded and decided to work on it to give it the MOLOW touch.

CR: What is the best advice you have received while pursuing your career as DJ’s/Producers?

M:  Never give up and believe in yourself.

CR: Your recent track ‘I Need A Dollar’ is a notable rework for the original track by Aloe Blacc, do you think more artists should do more reworks of the older tracks in this day and age?

M:  We think it’s good to work on older tracks, it helps to improve your skills and creativity. It also helps keeps the song alive as it reminds people of the original.

CR: If you guys were not producers/DJs what would have been your career choice?

M:  We are so happy to work as Musicians.. otherwise we would maybe end up as fireworks

CR: Who is your biggest supporter as a Producer/DJ?

M:  We had the honour to work with many creative people even during the Covid-19 time. The biggest success we had was the Song 'Carry On' with Martin Jensen which we are very proud of.

CR: DJs/Producers travel with multiples of that one item, what is that item for you?

M: Earplugs to sleep in the airplane haha!

CR: Are there any projects that you are working on that our followers should know about?

M: This year we spent most of our time working on new music. you can look forward to hearing some very cool stuff soon and of course, we try to be creative with our social media.. so make sure to follow us there

BLACK DJ/LABEL HEAD MONSIEUR FRAZIER REMIXES BOIISH'S "DO TOO MUCH" FOR DANCE FLOOR INCLUSIVITY LABEL HE.SHE.THEY

"Do Too Much" boiish (Monsieur Frazier remix) Stream now across platforms

Following the widespread success of boiish and Mike Antix’s Do Too Much, genre-defying label HE.SHE.THEY. releases a remix from Los Angeles-based DJ, producer and Understated label head Monsieur Frazier.

Speaking on the release, Monsieur Frazier described how he was inspired by the “sounds, rhythms, and grooves that sparked my love of proper house music, which is that of 90’s New York house and U.K. Garage.”

Monsieur Frazier’s leads proceedings with a pumping 4x4 mix of the original. Swinging kicks converge on choppy hats, whilst a groove-lead piano roll chimes on in the background to form a ripe-and-ready dancefloor cut.

Monsieur Frazier is no stranger to the global music scene. Cutting his teeth in Los Angeles, he is the co-founder of the LA-based record label, event production brand, and creative collective, Understated and Understated Recordings, as well as a resident of seminal US nightclub Sound. He’s performed at Coachella, Splash House and Minimal effort, and most recently Frazier launched his very own weekly livestream show titled ‘Monsieur Mondays.’ Hosted on his label’s Understated Twitch channel, the recurring DJ stream showcases his highly eclectic musical tastes, as well his deep and extensive musical library.

Through his unwavering passion for the traditionalist sounds spanning Chicago and New York House, Detroit Techno and UK Garage, along with a heavy influence Funk, Hip Hop, Soul, R&B, Jazz and Disco, it’s safe to say Frazier has figured out a winning formula that’s earned him the overwhelming support of his contemporaries and peers alike.

Operating as an event series, record label and fashion brand, HE.SHE.THEY. is at the forefront of the contemporary inclusive movement. Acting as a safe space for individuals regardless of “age, race, sex, gender, ableness, religious background or sexual preference”, the brand’s ethos is to “create a planet without prejudice for people to be people”. A noble ambition, the label offshoot provides a platform for queer and marginalised artists to showcase their talent.

OUT NOW VIA OPPOSITION

With every release, German melodic producer Rezident demonstrates his masterful production prowess with his outstanding creations. Following his ‘Chapters’ EP, Rezident reveals a mesmerising 5-track EP, ‘Definition’.

STREAM/PURCHASE: REZIDENT 'DEFINITION' EP

Revisiting his sensational single ‘Artifacts’, Rezident builds a dreamy soundscape, brimming with scintillating synths across a bed of down-tempo percussion. Calling upon piano melodies and a deep bassline, ‘Finders Keepers’ emanates a melancholic feel across its duration. Leading with airy synths and a gentle bassline, ‘In Veins’ is a soothing cut, which uses a chopped vocal to complete the overall tone. The penultimate offering ‘Want It All’ is a restorative production, which moves delicately across its instrumental arrangement. Allowing the listener to unwind, this beautiful number ebbs and flows with smooth synths and a crisp bassline. Presenting listeners with a brand-new creation, ‘Remember You This Way’ perfectly blends Biishop’s haunting vocal piece with guitar licks and a reverberating bassline, flaunting his ability to craft emotive music that will last a lifetime.

"The 'Definition' EP means a lot to me since it’s basically how the Rezident project started. My first-ever releases are included here and I have lots of great memories of these records. There’s also a brand new track ‘Remember You This Way’, which is my very first vocal song/collab!"
- Rezident

Putting his own spin on Nils Hoffmann’s ‘Parachute’, Rezident took the original to his own realm with expert care and precision, delivering a slow-burning energy, gently infusing his signature blend while maintaining the original’s essence. Playing livestream sets for Anjunadeep and a special Thanksgiving mix for SiriusXM Chill, Rezident continues to spread his stunning sound to the globe and enchant new audiences with his unique blend of electronic dance music.
