Rad Cat continues to provide a soundtrack for feels with his latest release “Levitate” featuring the vocals of burgeoning indie pop artist Armen Paul. The track cements Rad Cat’s duality and ability to express a range of emotions through his production. Coming out of a breakup earlier this year, Rad Cat saw his sound shift towards a darker, more emotional electronic sound, blooming into a self-expression that resonates with fans and “Levitate” is no exception. 

“Levitate” opens up with airy synths that quickly spotlight Armen Paul’s honest vocals about falling head over heels in love with someone new as Rad Cat guides listeners through contemplative bass beats and sensitive synth lines. The latest from Rad Cat follows a series of darker releases that appear to be a break from his high-energy future pop sound, allowing fans to experience more than the upbeat Rad Cat productions they’re familiar with. The San Diego native intends to finish out the year with more brooding productions before returning to his cheery tunes.

While the young Mexican-American producer has an impressive resumé of production and remix credits with artists like blackbear, Kevin Gates, Enrique Iglesias, and more, Rad Cathas made a name for himself soundtracking dance floors and even some of your favorite commercials for brands like Nintendo and Samsung. 

Most recently, the 24-year-old young gun has spent the last few years honing his own unique sound which expresses a range of emotion that puts his ethereal feels on full display. He’s performed on the stages of CRSSD Festival, EDC Mexico, and Nocturnal Wonderland, as well a hometown show with Space Yacht San Diego.

Christian Ariza, professionally known as “rad cat” is a First-Generation Mexican American DJ/Producer, who hails from San Diego, California. He developed a strong affinity for music at 12 where he picked up his first electric guitar, a Fender Starcaster, and eventually fell in love with Electronic music. Growing up surrounded by technology and a keen interest in music production, the move into becoming a producer was a natural one.

The 24-year-old San Diego native is best known for amassing millions of streams on his tracks and official remixes alongside production/remix credits with acts including, Blackbear, Enrique Iglesias, Kevin Gates, Mike Posner, T-Pain and more.

Pursuing a unique style within the realms of Futurepop, he eventually caught the attention of majors, signing remixes through Sony Music and Universal Music. All of this happening before reaching the age of 21.

He also made his live debut on the Main Stage of CRSSD Festival in San Diego in March of 2017. A festival that holds sold-out editions featuring 20,000+ people every time. All of this to be followed up with more live appearances kicking off early 2019.

JAXX DA FISHWORKS is back on the release radar with ‘Paranoia’, the DJ/producer’s third sonic offering of the new decade. The approximately four-minute musical endeavor prominently features a forcible vocal delivery from Dread MC. The bass-laden opus follows JAXX DA FISHWORKS’ string of highly-successful releases, such as his 2-track ‘Pusher’ EP from mid-January, as well as his single ‘We Light It Up’ from this April. The bouncy track immediately starts off with a pulsating kickdrum alongside an infectiously propelling beat. JAXX DA FISHWORKS is a Tokyo-based Japanese electronic dance music DJ/producer who’s been persistently honing his skills in the studio with release-after-release. The last eight years have seen the venerated stalwart drop his own signature brand of bass house on highly-regarded labels such as AC Slater’s Night Bass imprint, Ministry of Sound, and Insomniac Records, to name a few. The pioneering tastemaker’s successful 2017 collaborative track with the U.K.’s Lazy Rich, ‘Guilty Pleasure’, marked a pivotal point in his career, going on to impressively garner over 270,000 combined streams across platforms since its initial release. A true force to be reckoned with, his work would also eventually receive support from BBC Radio 1 personality Annie Nightingale in the same year. Additionally, his remix of Boombox Cartel’s 2017 track ‘Alamo’ also placed him on the map, with the tune currently sitting at nearly 630,000 combined streams to-date.

Dread MC is a Bristol-based vocalist who’s currently the head of My Nu Leng. With his finger constantly on the pulse of the underground dance music scene for well over a decade, he’s gone on to perform in sets alongside mainstays the likes of Caspa, Goldie, and Skream, and has provided vocals for AC Slater, BIJOU, Chirs Lorenzo, and Dr. Fresch. His feature on ‘Paranoia’ directly follows he and Le Duke’s track ‘Rise Up’, released in early October.

SEBASTIAN PLANO & MAARTEN VOS JOIN FORCES ON BEAUTIFUL COLLABORATIVE ALBUM DEBUT ‘&’

‘&’ is the stunning new album and collaborative debut project between Grammy-nominated Argentinian cellist, composer and producer Sebastian Plano and award-nominated Dutch cellist, producer and composer Maarten Vos.

A remarkable seven-track opus combining neo-classical, modern composition with ambient soundscapes and vanguard electronica, Plano and Vos’s expert fusion of cutting-edge production techniques with contemporary musicianship shines through across the exceptional long-player, as the newly formed duo deliver a beautiful catalogue of diverse, thought-provoking records into one truly impressive and timeless collection.

As two musical pioneers who specialise in merging classical instrumentation with electronic sonics, Sebastian Plano and Maarten Vos clearly have something in common. After fortuitously meeting each other at a music festival back in 2015, they were inspired by the idea of pairing their approaches to create something new and unique. Sure enough, a year after their first meeting, the pair would spend a marathon week of improvisations at Plano’s studio in Berlin, which resulted in over sixty hours of arrangements and recordings.

Finally trimmed down to an LP-length collaborative record after almost four years, the weeklong burst of improvised music has led to an exquisite new body of work that almost transcends genres; an album replete with rich, emotive cello duos, complex, counter-posed piano melodies and a subtle array of complimentary analogue synthesizers and forward-thinking studio techniques.

About Sebastian Plano & Maarten Vos: 

Plano is a Grammy nominated composer, cellist and producer based in Berlin, who studied in Boston and San Francisco and was originally born in Argentina. Maarten Vos is a Dutch cellist, composer and producer based in The Netherlands and Berlin. As two pioneers combining cello and electronics they were inspired to combine their approach and create music together after meeting at a music festival in 2015.
