MINDSLASH DEBUTS ON SET ABOUT WITH ‘NIGHTSHIFT’ EP

OUT NOW ON ALL STREAMING PLATFORMS

Bulgarian talent Mindslash delivers a statement of intent with his debut on Set About, presenting ‘Nightshift’ - a two-track release that distills raw techno power into pure, late-night energy. Both a reflection of his relentless drive and a showcase of his evolving artistry, this EP captures the duality of his sound: hypnotic force and emotional depth, seamlessly interwoven.

Opening with the title track ‘Nightshift’, Mindslash dives straight into the darker corners of the dancefloor. Punchy, unyielding drums anchor the production, while tense atmospheres and swirling synth layers pull listeners into a hypnotic state. Born from a difficult period working nightshifts in an alcohol and cigarette shop, the track channels his frustration into sound: he recorded the fridges, cashier desk and beeps that surrounded him, then transformed them into a cathartic, aggressive composition. In a single 10-hour studio session, he shaped these raw elements and crafted a track built for peak-time energy - relentless, controlled and a striking testament to turning struggle into art.

On the flip side, ‘Embrace’ reveals another facet of his sonic identity. Here, Mindslash channels the same power but tempers it with immersive melodic flourishes, striking a balance between rawness and reflection. The result is a track that resonates not just on the dancefloor, but also within - the kind of cut that leaves its imprint long after the night ends.

This release marks a milestone in a journey that has already seen Mindslash carve out a distinct place in Bulgaria’s techno scene. As the founder of the Technogenix event series, he has cultivated a community around his vision, curating everything from 12-hour raves to unique ship parties. On stage, his performances at leading clubs like Yalta and Plazma, as well as appearances at festivals like Street Parade Veliko Tarnovo, have showcased his ability to command crowds alongside international names.

From his roots as a DJ to his emergence as a respected producer with releases on Crypt, Invicta and Animarum, Mindslash’s trajectory has been defined by both resilience and originality. Influenced by the likes of Boris Brejcha yet unmistakably his own, his sound blends peak-time energy with melodic and psy-trance inflections - a hybrid designed to ignite and inspire.

With ‘Nightshift’, Mindslash makes his strongest statement yet: a bold new chapter on one of techno’s most forward-thinking labels. Fierce, hypnotic and uncompromising, this is techno forged in struggle, sharpened in the club and destined for the global stage.

If KINEMA pulses with identity, ‘All Week’ distills it into a single frame. Shuffling percussion and crisp snares carve out an addictive, unorthodox groove, while a worldly wind lead slips into focus, smooth yet kinetic in a single breath. As the track unfolds, the drums begin to spar with a swelling bassline in a tantalizing call and response that feels primal yet universal. As a first taste of KINEMA, the single works not because it defines the album’s entire palette, but because it hints at its scope. The record is less about sharpening a single formula and more about exploring a diverse spectrum of lush soundscapes that, when woven together, form the greater tapestry that is KINEMA.

That vision reaches full scale with 'Kölsch and the Machine', a new live show that brings KINEMA to life with modular performance and reimagined classics. Launching October 23 at Amsterdam Dance Event and traveling across Europe through the year’s end, the show represents a full circle moment, marking a long-awaited return to Kölsch's creative roots.

The next chapter begins on September 26 when 'All Week' hits streaming services worldwide, followed by the full KINEMA album and its lead single ‘Sad Makes Me Happy’ on October 17. Find more information about the live show, Kölsch and the Machine, including tickets and tour dates here.
