"Bingo Players was founded by Dutch DJs Maarten Hoogstraten and Paul Bäumer in 2006. Initially, they utilized a choppy form of tech house, but by 2011, their sound evolved, earning them gold and platinum-certified records across the globe, including in the US, UK, Netherlands, Australia, and many other territories. In addition to DJing and producing, they own and operate Hysteria Records, which releases many of their singles alongside tracks from other electro house producers.
In May 2011, Bingo Players released “Cry (Just a Little),"" which borrows lyrics from Brenda Russell‘s “Piano in the Dark,” a top 40 hit in multiple territories. Later that year, they followed up with ""Rattle,"" which charted in the top 40 in the Netherlands, France, Sweden, and Denmark.
In 2013, a revamped version of “Rattle,” titled “Get Up (Rattle),” was released and became a number one single in the United Kingdom, as well as a top 10 hit in Germany, Austria, France, Australia, and other parts of Europe. The single has been certified gold in Canada, silver in the UK, and four times platinum in Australia. Bingo Players became the first Dutch act in over 25 years to achieve a UK number one single.
In July of that same year, Bäumer announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer and that Hoogstraten would represent the duo on the road for the remaining tour dates. Bäumer stated that he would continue working in the studio and leading Hysteria Records while undergoing medical treatment.
On December 18, 2013, Bäumer passed away after losing his battle with cancer. Hoogstraten announced the news and canceled all upcoming shows to take time off and mourn the loss with family and friends.
In 2014, it was announced that Hoogstraten would continue Bingo Players as a solo act, per Bäumer’s wishes. Around the same time, they released “Knock You Out,” which became the group’s first number one song on the US Billboard Dance Chart.
Bingo Players has continued to tour globally, holding residencies in Las Vegas at Hakkasan, Hard Rock, and Drai's, as well as a multi-year residency at Premier in Atlantic City. He has performed at major festivals like Coachella, Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Music Festival, Electric Zoo, and Creamfields. His beach club and poolside day club touring property, Bingo Beach, has also been highly successful.
Bingo Players has had several top ten Billboard Dance singles, including ""Forever Love,"" which peaked at #4 on the Dance chart and #45 on the US Top 40 in February 2021. In 2023, he followed up with ""Pieces"" (a collaboration with Vassy and Disco Fries), which reached #1 on the US Mediabase Dance Radio Airplay chart.
Their songs have amassed over 400 million streams on Spotify and over 500 million views on YouTube, and they are supported by many top-tier DJs."
