LATIN-HOUSE DJ HUGEL INTRODUCES LATEST SINGLE “LA VERDOLAGA” BEING RELEASED VIA DEFECTED RECORDS

DJ, producer and modern Latin-House movement leader HUGEL debuts his newest track “La Verdolaga” via UK house music independent record label Defected Records. A multi-gold and platinum artist, HUGEL’s productions have reached the top spot on Beatport multiple times, including the worldwide smash hit ‘Morenita’ with Cumbiafrica. His globally acclaimed sound has sold out the biggest venues across America, as well as the world’s most sought-after festival stages from Tomorrowland and Lollapalooza to EDC in Las Vegas and Mexico. The next step on his journey to house music greatness, “La Verdaloga” is a culmination of HUGEL’s Latin influences and technical mastery in one explosive record.

Embellished by harmonious Spanish vocals and a light Latin percussive flair, “La Verdolaga” radiates an irresistible impression. Hailing from the south of France in Marseille and having spent much time in Ibiza, HUGEL’s chart-topping house music is inspired by the Balearic Islands and surrounding Mediterranean culture, resulting in an eclectic blend of Latin, Oriental, and tribal rhythms. The final production presents a deep, blissful listening experience that showcases not only HUGEL’s undisputable talent and artistic versatility, but a distinct vision and sonic depth that is authentically his own.

“Defected (Records) is the Champions League of house music” HUGEL proudly expressed when asked to reflect on what ‘La Verdolaga’ means to him and marks in his career. “Afro Latin House is finally global and I’m stoked to release among the many legends on Defected Records. ‘La Verdolaga’ is a classic folk Colombian vocal from Toto La Momposina. It is a mix between spiritual rhythm from the jungle and modern electronic music. On every single set I play it and it always creates a moment. It is an Anthem.”

Since bursting onto the scene in 2015, the serial chart-topper has amassed an international following and over 1 Billion cumulative streams for his widely adored releases ranging from “Marianela (Que Pasa)” and “Morenita,” to his recent viral rework of LATIN MAFIA’s “Patadas de Ahogado” and of TWENTYSIX & Tayson Kryss’s “Buscando Money,” co-produced with Jesús Fernández. The Latin House producer has also landed collaborations with electronic music heavyweights such as Diplo, Marshmello and J.Balvin, further solidifying his position as a major player in the dance music space.

Hailing from the South of France, Latin House producer HUGEL is celebrated for his distinctive musical flare, creating standout tracks including his chart-topping single "Morenita." With over 1 billion streams, the multi-gold and platinum-selling artist has significantly impacted the dance music scene, with many of his songs securing the number 1 spot on Beatport.

The dance music luminary fostered his love for music in his hometown of Marseille, France, where he was raised on funk, disco, and soul by his mother. Discovering DJing at 16, HUGEL was influenced by iconic artists like Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Daft Punk, Amine Edge, and David Guetta. HUGEL's global appeal has led to sold-out shows across America, including Space (Miami), Superior Ingredients (NYC), and Academy (Los Angeles), as well as residencies at Ibiza's legendary Pacha & Ushuaia. His stellar performances at major festivals such as EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, Parookaville, World Club Dome, and Mysteryland confirm his status as an influential figure in the electronic music world.

FAT COSMOE, MIKE GANNU AND MAE TEAM UP FOR NEW SINGLE ‘BEHIND’ ON 7RITUALS!

7Rituals keeps on rolling out essential club cuts, this time with Fat Cosmoe, Mike Gannu and MAE all combining to great effect.

Fat Cosmoe, Mike Gannu and MAE are a trio of talents who all have their own unique take on melodic house and have served it up on some superb labels. This is not the first time they have hooked up in the studio and it makes for another rich offering.

Behind is a deep roller with spine tingling synth designs. They bring futuristic vibes and neon colour to the hypnotic drums. Starry eyed and rueful, the mood is alluring as the groove rolls on and casts its magical spell.

Origine is then a collab with just Fat Cosmoe and Mike Gannu but it comes alive with more superb synth work that is sugary and pixelated and rains down over the rooted drums. It's cosmic and futuristic music to get lost in at the heart of the dance floor.

This is another tastemaking outing from 7Rituals.

The Who We Are artwork presents a stunning underwater shot by Daniel Nicholson. The ocean appears blue primarily because water absorbs colors in the red part of the light spectrum, and blue light is scattered, making it the most visible to our eyes. Additionally, the sky reflects blue light onto the ocean surface, which enhances its blue appearance. Essentially, the way light interacts with water and is perceived by our eyes is why the ocean looks blue.
