Quite Lucky Records announce that applications are officially open for Echoes III, the third chapter of the label's drum and bass writing camp series, taking place from 11–18 September in the idyllic village of Breb, Maramureș.
In a significant move to foster the next generation of drum & bass, Quite Lucky Records and UniCredit Bank are partnering to offer one fully funded spot for an emerging artist at the camp. This opportunity reflects a shared commitment to providing artists with the right space to collaborate and grow; for the selected artist, accommodation, meals, and transport are fully covered.
The chosen applicant will join a stellar cohort of artists, including Azotic, Bogdvn, Blocksberg, Moxu, Mihaiul, Hugh Hardie, Javeon, T-Man, Tian, and Satl. Together, they will engage in a format produced by Quite Lucky Records and built around creative exchange, community, and the future of the genre.
The open call is aimed at drum and bass producers, vocalists, songwriters, MCs and multidisciplinary artists interested in collaborative writing, cross-border exchange and the wider mission of Quite Lucky Records: to create real working spaces where Romanian and international artists can meet, write and build long-term creative relationships. While the primary focus of the camp is on fostering organic collaboration, new connections and musical experimentation, tracks written during the camp will be considered for future release on Quite Lucky Records.
The previous writing camp editions, held in the Transylvanian villages of Viscri and Cobor, became the foundation for the Echoes documentary series. Both films capture what happens when artists from different scenes, backgrounds and countries meet in an intentional setting and start building music, trust and creative relationships from scratch.
Echoes I: Viscri introduced the format as a creative experiment rooted in collaboration, community, and the emotional side of drum & bass. Echoes II: Cobor continued this narrative, following vocalist Blocksberg's journey while offering a broader look at the relationships, sessions, and ideas that helped shape the first spark behind Quite Lucky Records.
The previous editions also connected artists, producers and vocalists from Romania and abroad, including Flava D, Hugh Hardie, Makoto, Solah, PVC, HOAX, Gabriella Bongo, Tian, Azotix, Blocksberg, Bogdvn, Mihaiul, Nelu, Șerbănescu, Subliminal and others.
