Boys Noize has been dropping this NO ID Baile acid bomb on clubs and festivals for months, and it’s finally here as “Baile DF,” a collaboration with Adame DJ and vocalists Thalia Abdon and MC Da França. It’s the second track Boys Noize and Brazilian producer Adame DJ have released together, following the minimal yet massive “Acido,” which premiered on the latter’s new LP on the same label (OAZ008).
Boys Noize’s precision and masterful mixing resonate with Adame DJ’s expert wielding of the genre’s extensive and esoteric sonic vernacular, resulting in tracks suitable for Funktion-Ones and paredões de funk alike.
While “Acido” feels subterranean and deconstructed, “Baile DF” is unabashedly stadium-sized, riding a squelchy, Big Beat 303 line to an explosive Volt beat climax. The energy is directed and amplified as the MCs take turns commanding the crowd, manifesting a world where The Prodigy hailed from São Paulo.
With Brazil becoming the center of the global club avant-garde, Boys Noize and Adame DJ may turn this fantasy into foreshadowing.
