Out now the single will be followed by a brace of official remixes from Sean Doron & Tim Engelhardt and Armen Miran on May 3.
An unstoppable force on the international house and techno circuit, US producer and DJ Enamour is quickly garnering a reputation as one of the most exciting artists in electronic music, presenting an explorative sound palette that’s as daring as it is refined. Following two standout releases on Rose Avenue Records and Anjunadeep already this year, the LA-based talent now unveils his latest musical offering, as he lands on LIFEFORMS with his stunning new record, ‘Slip Away’.
Out now via Tim Engelhardt and Dr. Nicolas Pinto’s 2023-formed record label, ‘Slip Away’ marks Enamour’s eagerly anticipated debut outing on the budding young imprint and comes complete with a brace of remixes from Sean Doron & Tim Engelhardt and Armenian-Iranian producer Armen Miran on May 3.
Built on a bedrock of hypnotic tribal percussion, ‘Slip Away’ is a slow burn with longing vocals from LA-based, multi-instrumentalist Samanta Liza, which compliment emotive piano chords. The song builds in anticipation and energy through an immersive collection of recurrent vocal refrains, swirling synths, and airy soundscapes, before reaching a percussive apex as Enamour delivers in spades for his first release on LIFEFORMS.
Speaking on his LIFEFORMS debut, Enamour commented:
“This record, while very functional on the dance floor, is also deeply personal. It’s about the fear of losing someone, a message I think resonates with everyone at some point in their life. The initial instrumental came together quickly and I had written some lyrics but stalled out there. Luckily I had recently met Samanta and she happened to be in town visiting just a few days after I wrote the demo. We immediately clicked in the studio and the full track was born.”
First up on remix duty is LIFEFORMS label head Tim Engelhardt and Tel Aviv-based artist Sean Doron. Co-founder of Lisbon-based record label and artist collective Scenarios – of which Tim Engelhardt is also a founding member – Sean Doron now turns to LIFEFORMS for his latest outing, armed with an impressive catalogue of career releases on the likes of Frau Blau, Super Sapiens, Flying Circus and Children of the Future amongst others. True to form, Tim and Sean’s collective treatment across the remix is both trippy and absorbing, exploring a remarkable array of timbres and tones from across the melodic house and techno spectrum.
Last but by no means least, we see the introduction of man-of-the-moment Armen Miran, who closes out the EP with his own unique interpretation of Enamour’s immense original. Injected with his trademark musicality and stripped-back minimalism, this final offering showcases Miran’s diversity as a producer as he delves deep into his sonic vault to deliver one of the most intricate productions on LIFEFORMS’ catalogue to date.
