The Denver-based producer makes his debut on Bassrush with a wonky festival anthem.
HEYZ is a Denver-based producer who has been putting his stamp on the bass scene with a myriad of modern dubstep productions laced with nostalgia. Making his debut on Bassrush Records comes “Coming Up (Like That),” a hotly anticipated single that has been building a massive buzz online with the teaser already generating hundreds of thousands of views.
“Coming Up (Like That)” is an addictive and destructive deep dubstep cut primed for festival season. Built around simple yet infectious spoken-word vocals, the track creates a transcendental state capable of staying engaged in the mind all day long. The intro possesses a futuristic feel with an underlying sense of anticipation and mystique. Where the track truly shines, though, is in the drops, pairing cerebral-searing womps with heady atmospherics, punchy drums, and undeniable headbang-inducing energy. Split across three variations, the track keeps interest locked in by flipping the sound design while allowing the vocals to carry a consistent and irresistible chant-like hook. The massive dubstep anthem is assured to push speakers to the max and open up mosh pits throughout the next festival run.
The excitement feels palpable, with HEYZ touching on the buzz the release has created thus far: “‘Coming Up (Like That)’ is one of my babies. I birthed it with my computer, and I finally get to show my child to the world. This must be what a new mother feels like… ‘Will people think my child is pretty? Will my child be a success? Will I be a good mom?’ Pulling from the famous James E. Faust, I quote, ‘The influence of a mother in the lives of her children is beyond calculation.’ It is certainly beyond calculation the love and nurturement I have put into ‘Coming Up (Like That).’ I'm proud of her, I love her, and I'm ready for the world to embrace her with open arms and open mosh pits.”
Originally hailing from North Carolina, HEYZ is a Denver-based producer that has been steadily taking over the bass scene. Originally cutting his teeth in the realms of techno, his career has been on a consistent ascent after delivering a buffet of massive dubstep bangers with an unmistakable nostalgic twist. Balancing his exceptional production prowess with his comedic personality has helped to generate a truly dedicated following online. He is in the middle of joining INZO’s Tour with a high-profile stop at Mission Ballroom, as well as currently providing support on Barely Alive's ‘Better Off Dead’ Tour with an upcoming stop at Bossanova in Portland. Most recently, it was announced that he will be hopping on Black Tiger Sex Machine at The Armory. The upcoming festival season is looking similarly stacked with performances scheduled at Gridlife Midwest Festival, ileSoniq Fest, Moonwalk Festival, and more.
Fusing absurdly catchy vocals and speaker-shaking wubs, “Coming Up (Like That)” is yet another bass anthem from the dubstep aficionado.
