ODDKIDOUT, ANGRYBABY, AND NINA SUNG BREAK DOWN HOMESICKNESS ON EMOTIVE STUTTER HOUSE COLLAB "COME BACK HOME" ON LOST IN DREAMS RECORDS

The three remarkable talents unite for a masterful melodic collaboration.

OddKidOut, Angrybaby, and Nina Sung are fusing their collective talents for an incredible collaboration. Arriving on Lost In Dreams, “COME BACK HOME” is an uplifting melodic house groove that grapples with the aching pains of being homesick. The release marks the label debut for the two producers while serving as a follow-up to Nina Sung’s previous single “I'll Be There” alongside STAR SEED.

COME BACK HOME” is a masterclass in juxtaposition, offsetting its emotive, melancholic vocals with a vibrant and feel-good production. Nina Sung’s voice commands the scene with a distinct sense of longing. Her impassioned delivery traces the distance felt between loved ones and the sacrifices endured when chasing one’s dreams. The backing lets her voice breathe in the introduction with stirring keys creating a refined foundation. Progressive percussion and languid guitar licks help shift the energy, while injecting an upbeat undertone. Hitting a crescendo, the track explodes into a dazzling array of luminous atmospherics, throbbing basslines, beaming synths, and stammering vox stabs. The glittering display offers an inviting contrast that’s rich with hope and joy without losing its emotional core.

Providing insight into the inspiration behind the collab, OddKidOut shares: “A few months ago, I drove down the PCH with no music on in my car; I soaked in my surroundings and when I got back to my house, I tried to bottle up those feelings I felt…out came ‘COME BACK HOME.’ As an artist, I try my best to make music that is true to how I feel, and I try to replicate my experiences in the most genuine way possible. Sometimes, that leads to art that is dark—in this case, it leads to art on the lighter side. With Nina’s vocals, I felt like the message of what I was trying to convey in the music came to the forefront. And with Angrybaby’s co-production, we all really hammered the nail on the head!

Insomniac is such a great force to work with, from being accommodating with their new studio space for us to make music in, to booking us to play it live, they allow us to do what we love. Putting ‘COME BACK HOME’ out on Lost In Dreams is so exciting and we are all super grateful to be a part of the family!”

Nina Sung opens up about the origins of the single, saying, “I started writing ‘COME BACK HOME’ with my guitar and vocals when I was really struggling with being estranged from my family over my decision to make music a career. I’d have these dreams where I’d hear them calling me to ‘come back home’ because they missed me so much. Though the story behind the song is really sad, I think there’s something really special about it being juxtaposed with the upbeat production that OKO and Angrybaby made for this.”
