DASTIC EMBODIES NEW MUSICAL STYLE WITH DEBUT ALBUM ‘IT ALL MAKES SENSE’

OUT NOW ON SPINNIN' RECORDS

Esteemed Dutch DJ and producer Damian Bast – better known as Dastic – continues to embark on his transformative music journey with the release of debut album ‘It All Makes Sense’, out now via Spinnin’ Records

A true labour of love, ‘It All Makes Sense’ is a carefully curated aural experience that reflects Damian’s voyage of self-discovery, redefining the sound he first became famous for, and exploring themes of self-discovery, acceptance and change within his changing soundscapes. Within the realms of this new musical style, Dastic draws on UK garage and drum ‘n’ bass, with signature house and electro components, focussing on both the live construction of his sounds and the emotional response and connection he hopes it will evoke in his fans.

Kicking off the album, opening track ‘Chaos’ sets the stage with its upbeat and positive vibes, whilst also acknowledging the chaos that exists in our lives. Damian's introspective approach adds depth to the track, inviting listeners into his world. Dropped earlier this year and serving as the first single to be released from the album, Honest’ is exactly that – a raw and truthful dive into the struggles of self-awareness and authenticity- which sees Damian reflect on his journey, questioning the musical path he's on and the changes he desires to make.

Optimism shines through in ‘Out of Time’ as a positive Dastic looks towards the future with hope and motivation, embracing a new sound which truly begins to reflect his sonic transformation. Next up, the album's focus track, ‘Need You Again’ explores that irresistible desire to go back to what we are used to. Similar to the pull of going back to an old relationship, Damian finds solace in his past love, drawing on the familiar sounds of his past genre, whilst confronting the discomfort of change. Staying with the challenge of moving on and embracing new directions in creativity, ‘Another Thing’ has an experimental vibe that reflects Damian's exploration of this fresh musical territory.

As we reach the halfway point of the album, a realization dawns for Damian in title track ‘It All Makes Sense’ as the producer finds comfort in his evolving sound. The addition of storytelling elements adds depth to the track, guiding listeners through Damian's journey. I’m Loving U’ is a celebration of unconditional self-love and acceptance and even features Damian's own vocals, helping to create an uplifting track, which radiates hope and positivity.

Following the motivational boost of the previous track, All The Lights’ is a melodic yet stripped down track which sees Damian continuing his journey with confidence, guided by the lights to find a safe space sonically. Moving into the already released ‘Loved By You’, this summery soundtrack embodies the butterflies that come with a new crush, with Damian embracing those first flutters of being in love as a catalyst for personal growth and happiness.

‘Do It Like That’ is a declaration to the world that he is ready for his new chapter. Exuding confidence and swagger, Dastic brings in urban sounds for a powerful production that effortlessly reflects Damian's newfound self-assurance. The  second single to be released from the album, ‘Don’t Lead Anywhere’ celebrates independence and confidence in the outcome of Damian's journey, striking the perfect balance between the melancholic and upbeat. Finally I Like Your Body’ sees the merging of Damian’s old club sounds with his new musical styles, closing the album with a harder, sexier soundscape that will definitely leave fans wanting more.

The release of ‘It All Makes Sense’ and final single ‘Need You Again’ also completes the final part in a trio of official music videos to the three lead singles, which also includes ‘Honest’ and ‘Don’t Lead Anywhere’. Set in a ‘magic’ vintage shop and featuring a cameo from Dastic as the shop owner, the video trinity centres around one overarching concept, with each video treatment featuring a different protagonist that is unhappy with their life, and finds a magical item within the store that promises them the chance of a better, alternative life – but can they resist temptation?

Meticulously crafting each track to reflect the various aspects of his personal and artistic evolution, ‘It All Makes Sense’ is a powerful exploration of the raw humility of a producer taking risks and following his heart to find a new voice. From bedroom experiments to a fully-fledged album, from introspective moments to euphoric highs, Dastic’s impressive debut will cement him as a producer to watch.
