Paul Mayson presents ‘Missing You’, his brand-new single featuring this year’s multi-platinum breakthrough singer/songwriter Isabèl Usher. The single, out via Sony Music, leads up to the release of the Dutch producer’s highly anticipated debut album ‘One Life’, which is accompanied by a digital art piece – coming soon!
At the intersection of dance and pop, ‘Missing You’ is a unique combination of forward-thinking house music production with an enchanting vocal hook by Isabèl Usher. With a series of infectious dance tracks, Paul Mayson is pushing boundaries within the pop-centric side of the electronic genre, incorporating early house music sounds and culture with new and eclectic elements and collaborations from all over the world.
Talking about his creative process, Paul said, “As a producer it’s my goal to create dance music that goes beyond trends, fuses sounds of the genres that I love, and makes you feel free. Working on ‘Missing You’ was a unique experiment, blending a new and more percussive house sound with two different vocals by Isabèl Usher and James Francis. It’s a dance track, but it has a ballad and a duet built inside of it! We wanted to make it energetic, but still emotionally charged. To make an exciting and eclectic song for the summer with different layers and depth to it.’’
After touring internationally as a club DJ early on, Paul got his start producing and remixing releases for global pop, dance, and hip-hop stars, such as Far East Movement, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Yelawolf, Don Diablo, Nathan Sykes, and Sam Feldt. He also did the official remix for ‘Deep Down’, the summer hit by Alok, Ella Eyre and Kenny Dope, after which he released ‘Have It All’, his own official rework of Chicago’s iconic song ‘Street Player’.
After he got picked up by MTV and XITE as their breakthrough ‘Push’ and ‘Kickstart’ artist, he is currently making waves with his unique take on dance music. His past releases feature the likes of Saint Sinner (Grammy nominated singer/songwriter from the US), Far East Movement (known for their global #1 hit ‘Like A G6’) and Sharlene Hector (Basement Jaxx). He also gained support from fellow DJs such as Axwell & Ingrosso, David Guetta, Sam Feldt, Riton and Oliver Heldens.
