PETE TONG’S DJ ACADEMY WELCOMES TWO NEW TUTORS – ADAM BEYER AND SAMA’ ABDULHADI

The Pete Tong DJ Academy opened its doors to the world back in April of 2022 and since then it has become home to some of the most exciting up and coming talent. Today, the team behind the academy are very excited to announce that two of dance music's brightest stars will be joining the stellar lineup of tutors at the PTDJA; Adam Beyer and Sama’ Abdulhadi.

One of the most highly respected artists in electronic music, who is clearly at the forefront of the techno scene for the past 20 years, is superstar DJ/Producer Adam Beyer. We are excited to announce he’ll be joining the PTDJA as the latest addition to the stacked roster of tutors, alongside the international superstar DJ from Palestine, Sama’ Abdulhadi.

Adam is at the peak of global club culture, leading Drumcode to become one of the most internationally recognised brands, presenting over 250 releases and counting, and the infamous Drumcode parties around the world. With all the experience both as an artist and entrepreneur, Adam has depth knowledge of many facets of the game besides mixing like the importance and ins and outs of A&R which is vital knowledge for a DJ’s success.

Leading the techno scene for the past two decades; Adam’s ever-growing legacy will now include leading the students of the PTDJA into becoming the future of electronic music; it’s safe to say that they are in good hands.

"I am thrilled to join the Pete Tong DJ Academy as a tutor, alongside other industry legends and the incredibly talented Sama’ Abdulhadi. I am excited to pass on my knowledge and experience to the next generation of artists, helping them navigate the complexities of the industry and achieve success. The Pete Tong DJ Academy is an amazing opportunity for aspiring DJs from around the world to learn from the best in the business. I am eager to share my expertise while also emphasising the importance of entrepreneurship in the music industry. As we approach the IMS this April in Ibiza and the announcement of the Future Talent Awards winner, I am proud to be part of an institution that believes in nurturing talent from all walks of life. I can't wait to start working with these passionate and talented individuals and witness the future of electronic music unfold." – Adam Beyer

Prior to becoming the first international superstar DJ from Palestine, Sama’ began her musical journey when she left home for Beirut’s burgeoning techno scene, where she broke through with her famous Boiler Room debut set in 2018. Leaving home hasn’t stopped her from staying close to her roots; she supports the ever-growing number of musicians and creatives in Palestine in various ways like setting up the collective Union in Ramallah which serves as a hub for DJs, producers and creative minds of Palestine.

It’s an incredible feeling being part of the Pete Tong DJ Academy, it’s like joining The Avengers! The guest DJs I will be teaching alongside, are literally the first DJs I ever saw in my life, I would save every penny to go to Beirut to see them. These DJs are the reason I am a DJ, I used to study their sets day in, day out. To think if back then, I had access to something like this? It’s basically the inside of my heroes’ brains! I had no choice back then to do it by ear which is an extra important practice.” - Sama.

It comes as no surprise that she is the latest tutor to join the academy; with her passion for giving back to the community and passing on her knowledge, the academy sees her as a perfect fit to the ever-evolving team that will shape the next generation of DJs.

“My involvement will range from technique, to reading crowds, to transitions, to mapping Traktor, everything I know so far from A-Z. I really hope you all find the answers to the questions you are looking for - even if you are already a well-known DJ looking for new tricks and tips”. Sama

The academy boasts of over 90 lessons spread out in a timely manner so students can nurture their skillset and learn every aspect of a DJs career by the hand of some of the most renowned DJs including Nicole Moudaber, Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, TSHA, Pete Tong. Its talent pool is home to over 1,500 aspiring DJs from more than 60 countries.

We’re fast approaching IMS this April in Ibiza, where Pete will be announcing the winner of their coveted Future Talent Awards. Launched earlier this year, 50 free places were made available to budding bedroom DJ’s who perhaps didn't have the financial capabilities to join, but no less have a wealth of talent to prove their potential and desire to become the new face of dance music. It opened the academy to everyone, no matter who you are or where you are from.
