WHYTE FANG UNLEASHES LONG-AWAITED DEBUT LP, GENESIS

GENESIS IS OUT NOW VIA FMU RECORDS

The wait is over; Whyte Fang’s highly-anticipated debut album, GENESIS, is finally here. The 12-track LP features a collection of snapshots of Whyte Fang’s enigmatic mind; from dark electronica to warehouse-primed cuts tied together with meditative intervals, to psychedelia-infused electronic productions, GENESIS doubles as the perfect conclusion to her lengthy introduction. Boasting all 5 previously released singles, as well as 6 brand-new tracks, the collection of songs explore her ever-evolving stylistic vision. Whyte Fang will also be performing at Coachella Valley & Arts Festival on April 14th and 21st. Both sets will be live-streamed via Coachella’s official YouTube channel.

A vision brought to fruition by creative force Alexandra Sholler - known across the world for her work as Alison Wonderland - Whyte Fang has always been destined to make a commanding debut. A decade in the making, Sholler has always known exactly what she wanted Whyte Fang to be, waiting patiently for the perfect moment to execute her vision. The moment is now. Sholler went into the recording process shortly after she found out she was pregnant. According to Sholler, ongoing gusts of inspiration and creativity were the main driving forces behind GENESIS. “The entire album was created during my pregnancy,” she says, "this is the most creative I’ve ever felt. In fact, most songs on the album were made in a day.”

GENESIS features collaborations with Elohim, Barney Bones, and Chidi Himself, as well as previously released collaborations, “Genesis,” with  Jay Watson (Tame Impala, Pond, GUM) and Jacob Ray (88 Rising, Rich Brian, NIKI, Joji, Alison Wonderland) and “SCREAM” with Erick The Architect (Flatbush Zombies). The album unfolds across various electronic textures, all of which come together to convey the essence of Whyte Fang: boundless creative expression.

The resurgence of Whyte Fang was officially announced last December when she shared the news of her forthcoming debut album, as well as the launch of her new label, FMU Records. Since then, Whyte Fang has gained praise and support from various tastemakers, including Billboard, Annie Nightingale, Rolling Stone Australia, and Forbes, as well as landed in a number of Spotify editorial playlists, such as Dance Rising, Bass Arcade, and Bangers.

To further celebrate the release, she will take her experiential live show to the Gobi stage of Coachella. Following two sold-out Whyte Fang headlining concerts in LA and Brooklyn, the production-heavy and cutting-edge live experience has proven to be a huge focus for this project. For those who are curious to see what it’s all about, her set will also be live-streamed on Friday, 4/14, and Friday, 4/21, from 9:25 pm-10:15 pm via Coachella’s official YouTube channel - http://yt.be/coachella.

Whyte Fang, is a dark electronic project from the mind of Alexandra Sholler (better known as Alison Wonderland), the first-ever WF live show occurred as a secret headliner for a Brownies and Lemonade event at LA’s State Historic park in late 2022, the first ever publicized show arrived on September 21 at the Roxy in LA. The show sold out on the first day, the buzz was real.

Alex has been creating more industrial electronica for years but hasn't felt the time was right to release any of it until now. Alex says "I have decided to release this music separately to Alison Wonderland because I want these beats to live in their own primal world". To create that new world, Alex has given life to an indie project she started back in 2011. The Whyte Fang project won’t be constrained to one single genre, paired with a dark electronic ambiance, it gives a unique and fresh take on the current dance scene. The second single “333” dropped on September 8th, just before the first-ever headline Whyte Fang show. The production-heavy and cutting-edge live experience is a huge focus for this project. Showgoers will be transported into an alternate universe guided by THE Whyte Fang. With her recent debut LP release, the project has only just begun.
