THE INTERVIEW

CR: Hello Alex, glad to have you on Canadianravers. How are you and where are you talking to us from?

DV: Hey guys! Thank you for the invitation. I’m doing well, and I’m currently talking to you from Brussels, Belgium.

CR: Tell us a little about yourself, and how did you come up with the name ‘Delta Vaults’?

DV: Sure! My name is Alexandre, I’m a 30 years old DJ and producer of Progressive & melodic techno from Belgium. I started my journey a long time ago, loving the piano from a young age. I learned the process of creativity through listening, watching and trying stuff on my own. Having a particular taste for film soundtracks, I quickly fell in love with the beauty of the emotions transmission, the energy and the enlightening melodies. In 2021, I started to release my tracks on different platforms and got some great support which gave me confidence to quit my full-time job and launch my artistic career.

The name Delta Vaults is basically the fusion of the word “Delta” which mirrors the convergence of rivers, symbolizing unity, like music’s ability to bring people together. On the other hand “Vaults” refers more to my personality in which I tend to hide my feelings. Therefore, music was for me a way to express my emotions and feelings.

CR: Your recent track ‘Escape’, Can you talk us through the creative process behind it? What inspired you during the production of this project, and what message were you trying to convey?

DV: I created “ESCAPE” when I was facing some hard times in life, thinking about quitting everything to find comfort, to have a break and somehow to escape reality. For me the story behind this track reflects a journey which gets better over time. It is the reflection of time, work and perseverance. The moral is that one day you’ll get where you want to be, but you’ve got to have faith and accept that everything takes time.

CR: Collaboration is an essential part of the music industry. Is there anyone you would love to collaborate with in the future? What qualities or attributes do you look for in a collaborator, and how do you ensure a successful outcome when working with other artists?

DV: Indeed! Collaboration plays an important role in a music career. I my opinion it stimulates creativity and it is a great way to learn from each other. It’s also an amazing networking opportunity to meet new people in the industry and make connections. Some artists are sometimes more talented in creating melodies and some are more into mixing advanced techniques, so it is a way to combine talents and to make the most of music production collaboration.

From my side, I’m currently working with different talented and upcoming artists, each of them have some particularities and that’s what makes the tracks more interesting. I can’t wait to share them with you !

CR: How do you approach translating your studio-produced tracks into an immersive experience for your audience? Are there any elements or techniques that you find important to include in your live sets?

DV: Translating studio produced tracks into a DJ live set is an amazing experience and process. Each tracks contains a specific energy and some particular emotions. For every kind of event, I focus on creating an immersive atmosphere for the audience, ensuring I capture and release the energy in order to bring the people together all along my journey.

CR: Your music often embodies a unique blend of different genres and influences. How do you navigate this musical landscape and maintain your artistic voice while experimenting with different styles? Are there any specific genres or artists that have played a significant role in shaping your sound?

DV: I think that here remains all the beauty of the creation process; trying to navigate through different approaches and influences in order to craft unique sound design, but always keeping your artistic direction. For each project, I dive into actual trends and take some ideas and elements that could fit my projects. For me, matching different ideas from different genres is the most powerful way to stand out to.

CR: Your music often delves into deep emotions and introspection, creating a deep connection with your listeners. Can you tell us about the significance of emotional exploration in your music-making process?

DV: Emotional exploration is a major part in my music making process. As I mentioned earlier, music is a way for me to express my feelings, so each track and project I work on must include a specific reflection of emotions. It can be through enlightening melodies and progressive chords as well as powerful beats and grooves. Something even more magical is the link we can find between emotions and memories which makes some music and tracks unforgettable as they can remind you some moments you have been through in the past.

CR: What challenges have you faced throughout your musical journey, and how have you overcome them? Is there any advice you would give to aspiring artists who may be facing similar obstacles?

DV: A big challenge for me was accepting the different events happening in life and welcoming them as a lesson. Life is a continual learning process which makes us stronger and better over time. Everybody lives their life at their own speed, and you have to keep in mind that great things take time. There is no rush no matter who you are.

CR: In your opinion, what does the future hold for electronic music? Are there any emerging trends or developments that you find exciting or promising?

DV: The future of electronic music is promising and the genres and trends evolution continues to offer new and innovative possibilities for artists and the industry. New technologies, new tools, streaming platforms development are going to play also a major role in the future productions and artist’s careers. Those changes are massive and are coming fast but definitely positive in my opinion.

CR: Lastly, what can fans expect from Delta Vaults in the upcoming months? Any exciting projects or performances on the horizon that you can share with us?

DV: The last few months I have spent a lot of time preparing a 2024 year full of music and projects. I’m super excited for what’s to come and have been working on several projects with different singers and upcoming artists. I’m also hoping to have more international bookings in order to meet fans and new crowds across the globe.
