WILL K said the following: “I cooked up this idea one night real quick and knew it was a vibe! I sent it to Shift K3Y and he took it to another level, adding those chordal elements which gave the song a really classy touch! I sent it to Martin (Garrix) like a day later and he ended up playing it at Tomorrowland. The response from the crowd in the video was super inspiring and it was so cool to see how quick this all came together! Not too long after that I met up with Lewis (Shift K3Y) in London and worked on some other ideas, and more importantly we became real good friends!”
Shift K3Y added the following: “I first heard about Will's music from a song called ‘Sun Is Dark’, the production was so well handled that I instantly reached out and wanted to collaborate. He then sent over a playlist of ideas to work on and ’Mini Skirt’ was the one that leaped out from the bunch. He had most of the idea there already, I just helped to flesh it out adding chord stabs and finessing the bass and drum sounds.”
