RAPTUROUS HOUSE SINGLE OUT NOW VIA DIPLO’S HIGHER GROUND LABEL
Dance music superstar-in-the-making LP Giobbi unites with rising UK producer Redfield and multi-faceted artist DJ Rae on “Waiting,” a rapturous new house single that comes via Diplo’s tastemaking imprint Higher Ground.
“Waiting” follows a sizzling past few months for LP Giobbi, as she released her debut album Light Places via Counter Records (Forbes called it “masterfully produced”), launched her own label imprint called Yes Yes Yes, embarked on an international headline tour, and most recently, released an official remix for the one and only Taylor Swift. The track swells with the carefree, euphoric vibe she’s cultivated via her music and live performances. It also packs a bit of a punch with its surprisingly percussive groove.
“This track came to life in London when Redfield brought an idea into the session, and we started building a track around DJ Rae's vocals. After some back and forth, 'Waiting' was born. I've played this track all over the world for a variety of dance floors, and it has been incredible to see how universal this song is.” — LP Giobbi
LP Giobbi is a DJ, producer, pianist, and activist who has earned over 150 million streams across all platforms. Since emerging in the dance scene in 2018, she has performed her “one-woman jam band” DJ sets, blending her decks with her live piano (+sampler) at high-profile festivals like Coachella, EDC, and Creamfields. She’s also supported iconic artists like Pete Tong, Fatboy Slim, Diplo, Mochakk, DJ Tennis, and even Dead & Co, everywhere from Fabric in London to Red Rocks in Colorado. Wanting to change the statistic that only 2% of producers are women, she has provided thousands of female and gender-expansive individuals access to production workshops, online courses, and scholarship programs for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC creators with her nonprofit FEMME HOUSE.
Since her first signing to Defected Records, DJ Rae has gone on to achieve UK chart success and a string of #1 chart positions across the biggest electronic music platforms with her own self-penned works. Honing in on her craft in close association with many of the true pioneers of house music, she has collaborated and performed alongside the likes of MK, Todd Terry, David Penn, Louie Vega, Kerri Chandler, and many more over the years. Her stand-out sets include headlining worldwide tours and performances at Defected in the House and Ibiza’s Pacha, with a past release history on Strictly Rhythm, Armada, and Ministry of Sound.
“There’s some real soul in this vocal. The inspiration comes from a special place, which gives the record a unique energy. All the elements have married together to make this a killer collaboration.” — DJ Rae
Redfield’s standout debut release, “Don’t Worry,” a collaboration with Swedish House Mafia legend Axwell, was hammered in clubs and radio all over the globe and has now surpassed a massive 10 million streams. His up-front house style has gained the attention of key tastemakers, including Annie Mac, MistaJam, Pete Tong, and Danny Howard in recent times, with Redfield's releases garnering international radio and club support.
