Mat Cipher teams up with singer-songwriter, Manu Beker, on their newest release ‘Stop Playing Around’, where they are back with the taste of a summer roller coaster ride, with full of emotions.
It wouldn’t be a summer hit without the ups and downs that come across your life, ‘Stop Playing Around’ surely helps you out as it is a go-to anthem that concludes a wild and heated summer that is also spiced with drama. Mat and Manu met in 2018 and since then, they have been working together on releases such as ‘Dominoes’, ‘Something Better’ and ‘By My Side’. Cipher’s previous laid-back release, ‘Sand Toy’, was actually co-written with Manu as well, which shows how active they are in each other’s works.
Mat shares a little insider how ‘Stop Playing Around’ was born:
“I made the instrumental last September but did not have any specific vocal ideas for it so I put it on the side. Fun fact, my friend invited me to his place because they had a gathering but I just did not manage to get there so I stayed at home and opened up this same project and started humming some melodies over to give it a try. I was genuinely surprised because the main line that became the chorus “Stop Playing Around” was the first idea that came to my mind and I became very excited. At this time, I only had the general idea for the chorus so a few weeks later we set up a writing session with Manu where we worked on the rest of the song and I was blown away how fast and smooth it was. Another few weeks passed when he recorded his amazing vocals, then I edited and finished the whole project and here we are. I hope people can let it all out while jamming to this song with their friends, or by themselves.”
