Brooklyn-based duo Supertaste is keeping up the release momentum with another warm-hearted original, “Spins,” out now on LA-based label Casablanca Sunset. Adding to their collection of satisfying singles off of their forthcoming Super Classic EP, “Spins” is a brilliant composition that highlights the duo’s craftsmanship as newage curators of dance music.

A song about falling head over heels, “Spins” delivers light tempos, gliding synth medleys, and sleek instrumental textures over a simple, catchy hook. Steering clear of riff heavy electronica, Supertaste pairs classic synth wave tones beautifully with their gently harmonizing vocals to maintain a balanced vibe throughout, rousing up some feel good dance rhythms about the bounties of love.

“Spins'' is the fourth release off of Supertaste’s forthcoming Super Classic EP, joining previous singles “Super Classic,” “Neon Prayer,” and “In Your Head.”

When the pandemic hit, the boys decided that when all else fails, head into the woods to make a disco record. Supertaste packed up their Brooklyn recording studio and road tripped to a cabin in Bristol, Tennessee, to produce their sophomore EP Super Classic - think 'Bon Iver, but make it disco.’ They cleared out the cabin’s living room furniture and recreated Supertaste studios in the mountains, with a view out over South Holston Lake and the Cherokee National Forest.

Time in solitude surrounded by their spread of synths, guitars, and studio canine companion Wilson, lead to the Super Classic EP. Last year left people feeling lonely, secluded, and pulled in a million different directions; the Super Classic EP is Supertaste's ode to finding happiness in the classics and simple moments. A drive with your best friend down the highway, a kiss with a stranger outside a bar under the street light, a post-club dollar slice with grease dripping all over a paper plate. Finding earnest connection and a community within the music we know and love.

As opposed to the typical electronic music projects that offer overly-curated images, huge production budgets, and overzealous personalities hiding behind masks, Supertaste are the authentic New York boys you can bring home to mom.

Supertaste is a Brooklyn-based duo with an appetite for deli sandwiches and disco. The pair aims to bring you that warm feeling of walking to your favorite bodega after a night of dancing.

In 2020, mid-pandemic, Supertaste collected their belongings in Brooklyn and ventured to a cabin in the woods to make an indie-dance record. The duo packed up their studio and road tripped to Bristol, Tennessee, where they produced their forthcoming Super Classic EP. They cleared out the cabin’s living room furniture and recreated Supertaste studios in the mountains, with a view out over South Holston Lake and the Cherokee National Forest. The epic scenery served as a source of inspiration fueling both creativity and productivity throughout the writing and production process.

Prior to the writing process, Supertaste debuted their first release in the Summer of 2020, the Breakup Disco EP. The 4-song release received support from a variety of outlets online including Spotify’s editorial playlist, “Soda,” along with artists like Washed Out (dj mix + artist playlist), The Knocks (artist playlist), Goldroom (artist playlist), and more. Beyond accolades and streaming numbers, the duo’s mission is to bring listeners that warm feeling of walking to your favorite bodega after a night of dancing in the city. Be on the lookout for more to come from this talented emerging group.
