California-based duo X&G have already made an indelible mark on the bass scene, boasting releases on Deadbeats and Insomniac Records, receiving support from Skrillex, and performing at festivals nationwide including EDC Orlando, HARD Day of the Dead, Lights All Night, Camp Bisco and more.
Now, the pair have turned their focus to reinvigorating club music and culture with their newly-minted side project ‘2POINT’. Helmed by back-to-the-basics, breakbeat-focused club music, they are positioned to be the North American solution to Boys Noize, doling out raw and driving dubplates for old school heads and new school shufflers alike.
Hot on the heels of their debut single “Check It,” X&G unleashes their sophomore, 2POINT, track “DON’T STOP”. A heavily percussive track anchored by addictive breaks, nostalgic rave samples, and jagged synths, “DON’T STOP” transports you straight to the dance floor, drenched in lights and engulfed by the bass.
2POINT (a shortened version of 2.0) is a natural evolution for X&G as they showcase the broken beat and off-kilter drums they've become so well known for, but with more emphasis on club-focused records. It's a sound meant for late-night, intimate venues, while also perfectly suited for echoing across a canyon into the dark void.
Catch some of the new ‘2POINT’ sounds when X&G makes their Red Rocks debut as part of REZZ ROCKS III on Friday, September 3, tickets available here.
ABOUT 2POINT
Ever since California-natives Christian Williams (Xian) and Aaron Spasiano (Gaszia) put their solo projects on hold and joined forces to create X&G, their sound and influence on the beat-making community has matured and stretched to farther reaches than either of them ever thought they’d see. They became recognized by outlets like Thump and NestHQ for their debut EP only four months after establishing the duo, and quickly went on to attract the attention of vocalists and collaborators from all corners of the spectrum. Josh Pan in particular, a shadowy Skrillex-endorsed producer behind one of the trap/hip hop scenes’ most fascinating and diverse offshoots, took a lasting interest in the duo, leading to several noteworthy collaborations. Now, the pair have turned their focus to heavily percussive club tracks with their newly-minted side project 2POINT with the hopes of becoming catalysts in reinvigorating club music and culture, as we begin to see shows and touring return.
