First-generation Mexican-American DJ and producer Christian Ariza, better known as Rad Cat, marches to the beat of his own drum with his new single “Replay” featuring indie-pop vocalist Skyler Cocco. “Replay” marks Rad Cat’s first release of 2021, following “Diamond” has amassed 600K+ Spotify streams since releasing via Dim Mak last fall, read more in Forbes.
Rad Cat draws inspiration from artists like SG Lewis, Madeon, Porter Robinson, and Justice to channel himself and his creative light in “Replay.” Incorporating elements of his favorite genres — pop, hip-hop, and house music — “Replay” is light and upbeat, yet radiates with dance floor verve thanks to Ariza’s unique and methodical production process.
“This string of releases was really inspired by me just trying to be my most authentic self. With many of my previous releases, 'Love & Illusions' and everything prior, I feel as if I was really focused on making the best EDM bangers I could make. I was focused more so on impressing other producers/EDM fanatics rather than being happy with myself & the music that I was creating. — Rad Cat
The golden tune casts the dynamic talents of singer-songwriter Skyler Cocco into the spotlight as well. Her kinetically dreamy vocals glide effortlessly over Ariza’s instrumental lattice of keys, drums, and guitar for a pop-funky backbone in “Replay.”
