Riding high off the back of his critically acclaimed single A Lucid Dream just a few weeks ago, hotly-tipped French techno producer, Portax, continues to grab 2021 by the horns with the announcement of his incredible new three-part extended player, The Invisible Game.
Out now via Ramon Tapia’s iconic Say What? imprint, The Invisible Game EP marks Portax’s eagerly-anticipated debut outing on the esteemed Dutch label, proving his worth with a true masterclass in menacing, underground soundscapes and expertly manipulated textures.
Making his intentions known from the off, thunderous kicks, trippy vocal samples and intricate drum patterns ignite the three-track EP in emphatic fashion, as the formidable Panik boss takes us on an intense, earth-shattering crescendo through the unrelenting title track The Invisible Game.
Celebrated for his unique blend of mind-bending techno and dark, driving sonics, the Montpellier-born producer continues to embrace his fierce reputation across the entire EP, combining frenetic percussion and twisted samples to deliver his second flawless cut of the record, My Darkness.
Bringing the package to an impressive finale with the arresting closer Singerei, the burgeoning French talent further demonstrates his creative flair, as pounding kicks and loose hi hats combine with warped synths and intermittent vocal chants in perfect accord to wrap a remarkable debut on Say What? and one of the finest EP’s of his career to date.
Speaking about the EP, Portax commented:
“The Invisible Game EP is undoubtedly my finest definition of dark energy to date, and is a record that I’m extremely proud of. Inside, you can find three different approaches, each proving that sound can be menacing and violent whilst also captivating and stimulating at the same time. It’s an honor for me to release this record on Ramon Tapia’s label and I really hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did making it!”
