ABOUT VICETONE

Since forming in 2012, Dutch duo Vicetone have brought both sophisticated musicality and untamed imagination to all of  their output. Working in their fastidiously designed home studio in Nashville, musicians/producers Ruben den Boer and Victor Pool craft every song with a profound attention to detail, all while channeling so much raw energy and feeling into their euphoric brand of dance music—a dynamic that’s led them to amass over 1 billion combined streams across all platforms to date, in addition to landing on DJ Mag’s heavily influential Top 100 DJs list multiple times, placing as high as #36.

In all of their music, Vicetone tap into the creative chemistry they discovered upon writing their first track together in college. Bound by a passion for groundbreaking dance music, the two longtime friends began working out of  a makeshift home studio Ruben had set up with secondhand speakers and DIY acoustic paneling.

As the follow-up to their 2019 EP Elements— whose tracklist includes the chart-climbing single “Something Strange” feat. Haley Reinhart, a #1 hit on SiriusXM’s BPM channel—Vicetone now returns with their most sonically ambitious and emotionally potent body of work yet, Legacy.

With Legacy, Vicetone approached their latest album with a heightened sense of creative freedom and an overwhelming urge to follow their most outrageous impulses. “In a way it’s a sort of passion project,” says Ruben. “We wanted to make something that captures us and our music at this particular moment, and tell a longer story than you could ever encapsulate on a single or an EP.”
