THE INTERVIEW
CR: Hello ManyFew, Glad to have you guys on Canadianravers again, how are you doing?
MF: Hey, it is a pleasure to be back on Canadianravers. We’ve just released a remix together with Joe Stone of Ian Carey's dance anthem ‘Keep on Rising’ so we’re doing good thanks.
CR: Can you tell us a little bit about yourselves and where does the name ‘ManyFew’ come from?
MF: We’re brothers and have always been huge fans of dance music. We love to travel, running, cook, touring around the globe. ManyFew is all about to spread positive vibes and the word is an antonym of Many and Few, Few stands for us two and the goal is to share our songs with as many people as possible.
CR: Your recent track is very upbeat, tell us a little bit of the story behind the producing process, as well as how did you guys connect with Leo.809? was this track inspired by an event or a moment?
MF: We got in touch with Leo.809 last summer and we started working on the first idea of the track. We wanted to produce a track that has those 90s/R'n'B vibes but at the same time with a modern dance music twist. We love piano and the summer and wanted to give that summer feel to it. We produced the rough idea quite quickly but we've been paying lots of attention to the details and been working on this one for many months now to give it the right feeling.
We know the Dance/Electronic scene is huge in Sweden, how did that influence you as an artist? Also, which club in Sweden is your favourite to attend?
MF: It has influenced us a lot, from DJs like Eric Prydz, Antiloop and Axwell. It has been a huge inspiration for us coming from a country that has many big names in the music industry. Abba and Max Martin are producers and artists that we also look up to. Our favourite clubs in Sweden are Café Opera and Berns. Both clubs are located in the central part of Stockholm and have that international vibe to them.
What is the best advice you both have received while pursuing your career as a DJs/Producers?
MF: Stick to what you like as a producer, surround yourself with people you trust and enjoy every moment of success!
Where do you think the scene is headed? One year from now? Five years from now?
MF: Well that’s always hard to predict but one year from now the demand for nightclubs are going to be huge all over the world, post-pandemic. Sounding wise we think underground music is going to become more mainstream. Five years from now the sounds of the 70s will be back J.
What is it that you love about the scene? Your favourite subgenre's scene?
MF: We absolutely love to play unreleased songs when performing, to see the reactions from the crowd is always exciting when playing ID tracks. Also when fans are singing along to our songs that’s always a surreal but amazing feeling. Our favourite subgenre is progressive house.
Is there a track that never leaves your personal playlist because it has a certain emotional connection to both of you?
MF: Junior Jack – Stupid Disco
We really love the vibe of that song and we still remember the reaction we had when we first listened to the song.
You guys are busy as it is, what do you like to do during your downtime?
MF: We love running, spend time on the beach, BBQ with friends, travel.
Are there any upcoming projects that you are working on that our followers should know about?
MF: We have a Remix coming up in July for Kelli-Leigh and a collab record with Jack Wins this summer as well. Also, we have some really exciting collaboration releases coming later this year, can’t wait to show you all! ;-)
