Supertaste enlists a crew of thrilling artists to remix their debut “Breakup Disco EP”.
Supertaste is comprised of Hundreds Thousands ( featured in DJ Mag’s emerging artist column ) and Slug Father, whose recent track ‘Keep On’ was featured on Disclosure’s BBC Radio 1 Residency. Supertaste also joined the French taste-making label Kitsuné in June 2020 with the release of their single “Comedown”.
Supertaste is a Brooklyn-based duo with an appetite for deli sandwiches and disco. The pair's mission is to bring the sound of an 80’s walkman to the 21st century, giving listeners that warm feeling of walking to your favourite bodega after a night of dancing. Inspired by the music that got them through heartbreak, their debut EP, Breakup Disco, was born. The EP harnesses the kind of uplifting retro funk that never fails on the dance floor.
Tracks from the debut EP have garnered widespread support including Spotify’s “ Soda ” editorial playlist, and artist playlists curated by Goldroom , Washed Out, and The Knocks . Enlisting an all-star selection of producers, Supertaste shares their first-ever collection of remixes – just in time for your living room Halloween dance party. The result is a collection of diverse reimaginations of their EP Breakup Disco, taking the listener on a sonic journey from the slowed “6 am version ” of Comedown to a vast landscape of 120bpm+ dancefloor-ready house. Remix artists range from acclaimed producers QRTR ( Dome of Doom ) & Devon James ( RVDIOVCTIVE ) to Supertaste’s very own Hundreds Thousands, and powerful budding artists coten & All Smiles .
“ It’s been an exciting process to see the ways these songs can be interpreted,” the duo said. “We’re
incredibly honoured to have such a talented group of artists put their own creative touch on this EP
and to release our first remix pack featuring friends and producers we look up to.” Breakup Disco EP (Remixes) can be streamed on October 30th everywhere music is played. For all updates
