DISCOVERY PROJECT WINNER CARDIO UNVEILS DEEP TECH HOUSE SINGLE "A PRAYER"

The Electric Forest 2024 competition winner delivers a stunning tech house track for his label debut

Emerging house music producer Cardio is making his debut on Insomniac’s Discovery Project label with his newest single, “A Prayer,” releasing on December 6th.

“A Prayer” is a deep tech house roller pinned to mantra-like vocalizations that rise and fall amid vibrating low-end pulses, dark foghorn stabs, swaying clank hits, fluttering textures, and a pair of alternating piano chords sprinkled sparingly into the mix. The track claimed the winning spot in the Discovery Project’s DJ/producer competition hosted at this year’s Electric Forest, and was selected personally by guest judge LP Giobbi. As the winning track, it secured Cardio a performance at the festival and a release on the label.

Born and raised in Cleveland, Cardio is no stranger to the music world. A classically trained musician and skilled multi-instrumentalist, he has spent years transferring his lifelong background in rock ‘n roll over to electronic music. His unique fusion of pulsing house rhythms and musicality from his rock roots creates a sound that is distinctly his own.

With “A Prayer,” Cardio showcases his forward-thinking approach to house music, aligning with Discovery Project’s mission of promoting innovation and supporting emerging artists.

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Benjamin Rosolowski grew up listening to anything and everything he could get his hands on. Being from the Home of Rock & Roll, he

took interest in the larger-than-life sounds of rock legends like The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin but left room for music from nearly every genre under the sun. From Beethoven to Metallica, Sturgill Simpson to Kid Cudi, Miles Davis to Muddy Waters and everything in-between.

A self-taught, and classically trained musician, Rosolowski learned to play the cello, guitar, bass, drums, and piano before diving into music production at the age of

fourteen. Music was always a part of his life in some form until in 2018 his heart went into AFIB. He collapsed on the kitchen floor and after his fiance called 911 was rushed to the hospital. The next year, he would attend EDC Las Vegas and realize electronic

music is his home. From this moment on, he donned the name Cardio and put all of his musical efforts into making electronic music that brings people together.

Cardio’s music has led him to intimate, underground sets alongside artists like Frameworks (UK), Emancipator, TroyBoi and 1788-L. In 2024 Cardio won Insomniac’s Electric Forest Discovery Project with guest judge LP Giobbi. With an innate ability to craft moving rhythms, and floating melodies, Cardio will find himself cemented on the

list of artists to keep an eye on in the coming years.

CHARLOTTE DE WITTE'S KNTXT WELCOMES ACID ASIAN’S VISIONARY DEEP SOUL EP

Brazilian techno talent Acid Asian, also known as Fábio Seiki, returns to collaborate with Charlotte de Witte, this time showcasing his much-anticipated Deep Soul EP on her renowned KNTXT label. This dynamic collection of tracks showcases his unique fusion of hard techno, acid, rap/trap, and psytrance, reflecting his diverse musical background and innovative approach.

"The title track is one of my favourites because it represents me 100%. Focusing on the acid line with this mantra vocal, I wanted to express something more deep to this track. 'Space Colors' is a track with which I wanted to express this new hard techno era using the hardstyle's kick but keeping my style. 'Ain't Nobody Like Us' is my background from rap/trap and 'Humans' is my psytrance background, it's an off-beat track.”

Charlotte de Witte, who has supported Acid Asian since 2021, praised the release: “Acid Asian is back! From his first release with us in 2022, it's been such a pleasure to see him grow and gain respect in the techno scene. We've played many shows together and he's one of the most talented, most instinctive producers out there. Playing Space Colors as the closing track at the main stage of Tomorrowland Brazil where Fábio was dancing in the crowd, was a very wholesome moment. These four tracks are absolute bombs and also show the variety he has to offer as a producer. I'm very excited about this release and I hope you are too!”

Since starting the Acid Asian project during the pandemic in 2020, Fábio has rapidly risen in the techno world, becoming the first Brazilian artist to release on Charlotte's sub-label RPM. With standout performances at Tomorrowland Brasil, DGTL São Paulo, and international gigs across Japan, India, and Europe, Acid Asian continues to leave an indelible mark on the global electronic scene.

The Deep Soul EP is another testament to his talent and relentless creativity, offering a rich and electrifying experience that is sure to captivate techno fans worldwide.
