After captivating listeners with their debut singles 'Happiness' and ‘Miss Me’, newly formed, trailblazing outfit Lovequest returns with their latest release, 'Make It Easy,' in collaboration with renowned artist Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED). This new single sees Jake Shears, Shadow Child and Doorly team up with the critically acclaimed British artist to deliver a track that is both progressively colourful and yet warmly nostalgic; a sure-fire hit from some of the UKs most innovative musical minds.   

A reflective and introspective turn for Lovequest, 'Make It Easy' offers a departure from the high-octane, pop-laced anthems of 'Happiness' and 'Miss Me,' showcasing a more atmospheric, dancefloor-focused side to the trio. Jake Shears' unmistakable vocals glide over Shadow Child’s meticulously crafted production, rich with Balearic grooves and hypnotic rhythms, while Doorly’s dynamic approach to genre-blending adds depth to the track’s lush soundscapes, filled with nostalgic keys and bright melodies. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED) - the brainchild of London-born sonic wizard Orlando Higginbottom - has been crafting a spellbinding blend of electronic soundscapes since his electrifying debut album ‘Trouble’ in 2012. He’s produced records for artists such as Blessed Madonna, SG Lewis, Tove Lo, and more. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs re-emerged with his second LP ‘When the Lights Go’ in 2022, a kaleidoscopic journey through love and life’s complexities. Now, teaming up with Lovequest for ‘Make It Easy,’ he brings his extensive and diverse musical palette into the fold.

DISCOVERY PROJECT WINNERS RUDE FLAMINGO RELEASE A FUN DISCO-LEANING TECH HOUSE TRACK "HITS THE SOUL"

Insomniac’s Discovery Project imprint is proud to welcome Rude Flamingo with the release of their new infectious single, “Hits The Soul,” set for release on November 1st.


LA-based production pair Rude Flamingo has their sights set on house and disco aficionados. With their latest creation “Hits The Soul,” the emerging force puts forth a charming track marked by an irresistible blend of disco and tech house. Born to bring on the boogie, the single is crafted with buzzing basslines, funky plucks, retro synth melodies, shimmering fills, and a soulful string section that flows through each groove. Playful vocal samples layer over uplifting rhythms, showcasing a fun-loving character poised to provide a plethora of deep-rooted gratification.

 

“Hits The Soul” was the winning submission for the Discovery Project DJ / producer competition hosted at Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge, selected by guest judge SIDEPIECE, which earned them a performance at the festival, as well as this release on the label.

 

“Our latest track is more than just a song; it’s a journey that hits the soul,” says Rude Flamingo. “Inspired by the vibrant energy of disco and house and aims to connect with listeners on a deeper level. Originally from New York, Rude Flamingo is composed of two LA transplants who are swooping into the scene as an emerging dance duo set on creating groovy, ‘80s-leaning disco music. They’ve had their share of successful releases, with their recent single “Lose My Mind (In a Good Time)” having racked up more than 254.5 thousand streams to date.

 

Now, with the release of “Hits The Soul,” Rude Flamingo continues to build a bulletproof case for being an artist to watch amongst the tech house and disco circles.

Known for his uncompromising productions, Per Pleks takes on “909,” pushing the track further into the realm of hard techno territory. Built around the vocal hook of legendary UK MC, Hughie Babe, the track pairs the looped refrain with thunderous

kicks, shrieking synth skids, piercing percussion, and foreboding side-chained pads, all of which screams peak-time via his special industrial treatment.

“The first time I heard the original track, I fell in love with Hughie’s work on the vocal,” says Per Pleks. And, the sound design Tony did makes it a really awesome song. It was a lot of fun to work on this!”
