FAHLBERG DEBUTS ON WATERGATE WITH ‘RHYTHMS FOR SALE’ EP

‘Rhythms for Sale’ – the brand new three-track EP from Swedish DJ and producer Fahlberg – is out now via Watergate Records.

Celebrated globally for his inimitable blend of melodic house and techno and hypnotic Afro House soundscapes, Fahlberg’s imminent debut on Watergate follows a prolific run of critically acclaimed releases on some of the biggest labels in electronic music over the past few years, including Diynamic, Stil Vor Talent, Siamese, Abracadabra and MoBlack amongst others.

Christening his debut in impressive fashion, Fahlberg inaugurates the package with the dynamic and driving opener ‘We Got Rhythms for Sale’. A chunky peak-time number released as a standalone single two weeks ahead of the full EP on September 20, the mesmerising A-side sees the Swedish talent build a relentless assortment of rolling basslines, intermittent vox drops and teasing breakdowns, as he launches the EP in style.

Next up, we see the introduction of ‘My Confusion’. An intricately layered house cut, driven by long, drawn out basslines, cosmic synthesisers and expertly manipulated female vocal samples, the middle order of Fahlberg’s EP sees the formidable Swede fire on all cylinders, whilst showcasing a different side to his diverse sonic repertoire.

Last but by no means least, the Stockholm-based artist offers up his third and final original offering on the extended player as he teams up with Dutch artist Mick Jerome for ‘I’m So Groovy’. Another exquisite production and arguably the most understated offering on the EP, Fahlberg’s diversity as a producer continues to shine through, as he adds to his flourishing career discography with another luscious melodic gem.

Regularly lauded by artists such as Solomun, Keinemusik and Adriatique amongst others, Fahlberg’s productions are characterized by an intricate blend of deep basslines, refined grooves and hypnotizing sounds. With notable releases on some of the industry’s biggest labels over the course of his career, Falhberg’s raw passion and talent also extends to his stunning live performances, where he can be found gracing the DJ booths of countless renowned venues across Europe. His sets are a true display of his passion for music and his ability to seamlessly blend his own tracks with the latest and most underground music acquired through years of crate digging.

MANTI DEBUTS ON ELEKTRONS WITH ‘GLIMPSE OF YOU’ EP

Marking its fifth release, Hannes Bieger’s Elektrons imprint proudly introduces another remarkable talent to its ranks – Los Angeles-based artist, MANTi. The Iranian DJ and producer has built a formidable reputation in LA, where she studied Music Production & Sound Design at Point Blank before becoming a party promoter. Behind-the-scenes she worked on refining her craft, while building an international network through her events. This network has provided the opportunity to travel the world and perform at clubs and festivals across Europe, including Kater Blau in Berlin and Fusion Festival. MANTi is an ideal addition to the Elektrons roster, with a creative outlook that is perfectly aligned with the label ethos: her stunning productions are characterised by deep, melodic layers, with a firm focus on atmospherics.

The title cut opens this EP, with MANTi demonstrating her emotional intelligence from the off. A undulating low end drives the moody, yet intriguing intro, which leads into a spinetingling progressive cut. The track builds steadily, with a highly emotive melody and carefully considered moments of tension and release. Straddling the fine line between joy and melancholy.

‘Lost’ emits more of a punchy energy, with sturdy claps and slinky hats driving the percussion. Mesmerising melodic elements create a spellbinding atmosphere, while MANTi’s arrangement ensures there’s a strong narrative to the composition. A powerful breakdown is the centrepiece of this captivating cut, allowing some breathing space before the track continues to flow.

‘Pieces’ takes things deeper to close out the release. Haunting vocals drift in and out of the background, floating over a dense low end and dreamscape-esque atmospherics. The vocals come to the fore as the track develops, complemented beautifully by highly emotive synth lines and enchanting cosmic elements.

MANTi’s debut on Elektrons represents another key step in the label’s development, with three definitive tracks that galvanise the label’s unique sound. Emotionally astute, rhythmically captivating and melodically enchanting, it’s another special addition to the label’s offering.
