MELODIC SONGSTRESS HALIENE ANNOUNCES OPHELIA SOLO SINGLE DEBUT “MEMORY OF YOU”

Two-time EDMA “Best Female Artist” winner HALIENE releases her new single “Memory Of You”. Her dynamic and emotion-laden vocals stand out potently against an electronic backdrop of melodic bass elements in pop-friendly landscape. HALIENE partnered with fellow singer-songwriter Annika Wells (Crawl Outta Love, Nightlight with Illenium) to deliver heart-wrenching lyrics exploring the juxtaposition of nostalgia and the reality of a painful past relationship. Melodic dance drums build with rising synth melodies into guitar-lead drops. Debuted at Lost in Dreams in Los Angeles this past June, the release marks her first solo-original on Ophelia Records.

“Memory Of You came about very differently than most of my songs. During the COVID lockdowns, I woke up in the middle of the night with the phrase “the memory of you, loves me better than you do.” I had a planned zoom session with Annika Wells (of Nightlight, Sad Songs, Crawl Out of Love, etc. by Illenium) a few days later and thought it would be the perfect concept to explore with her as songwriters. I’m a huge fan of her writing and artistry and this was actually our first time working together. Typically, I am the primary driver of my lyrics and songwriting, and I don’t bring in other writers besides my husband Matt, as I find it can dilute the depth I personally pour into my songs. Memory of You was a rare case that a co-write worked really well! Just like producer-artists collaborate on production and sound design, Annika and I shared lyrical influence and melodic emotions together.

The song explores the juxtaposition of a nostalgic picture of a fading relationship with the chilling reality of waking up to its failure. How does one let go of something that your heart wants to hold onto? Sometimes, the memory of it all lives more fondly in the mind than the reality of what it actually was. That fact, once realized, becomes a powerful and positive means of liberation. We can make the intentional choice to frame our memories of the person in love and not hurt, even when there’s not much that’s genuine to hold onto. It expresses a profound way of releasing and meaningfully crystallizing, even a painful past in love to move on and let go.

I’m so proud of how this song captures this concept, and how Matt and I were able to bring it to life in the sounds and elements of the track. We wanted to preserve the tender emotions of the song sonically, yet frame it in a more pop-friendly structure against melodic bass drums and synths. We are so excited to share this heartfelt creation as my solo debut on Ophelia Records. Seven Lions has had an important influence on my career and I’ve shared a lot of big collabs on his label. DEATH CODE COLLABORATES WITH KAMI ON FACE-MELTING HARDCORE SINGLE, "RUN IT BACK"

The two hard dance artists collaborate on a face-melting single as they make their return to Basscon Records.

DEATH CODE and KAMI are two repeat names from the Basscon Records catalog

and are now returning with their new collab, “RUN IT BACK,” releasing on August 9th.

"RUN IT BACK" finds them running up with American rock band CRYBLOOD to create a blood-pumping hybrid single combining thrashing scream metal and aggressive hardcore fueled by reverse kicks, frenetic synths, hollow switch-ups, and throbbing

bass. The track was created for their back-to-back set at Basscon's Bull's Eye massive.

Based out of Hollywood, DEATH CODE is the project of an accomplished producer who has been returning to his hardcore roots with this alias to celebrate his love for metal, rock, and hardstyle. He released his debut on the label with "Black Heart"

earning radio support from Kutski. He's seen support from Angerfist, Yellow Claw, DJ Snake, and Darren Styles.

Says DEATH CODE about the track, "Collaborating with KAMI and CRYBLOOD, we made the hardest track of U.S. artists for 2024."

KAMI is a three-man operation focused on creating the harder sounds of dance music, with a heavy hand in creating uptempo, hardcore and hard techno. They are regular

fixtures on the Basscon label, and have performed at EDC Las Vegas, Escape Halloween, and Ultra Music Festival.
