The Mutations artwork showcases a blacktip shark, captured by Daniel Nicholson. The blacktip shark, known for the distinctive black tips on its fins, is a sleek and agile predator classified as "Near Threatened" by the IUCN due to overfishing, habitat loss, and climate change. Conservation efforts are crucial to protect these sharks and maintain healthy marine ecosystems. Blacktip sharks can swim at speeds up to 20 miles per hour and often travel in groups. They are impressive athletes, capable of leaping out of the water and spinning in the air while hunting. Despite their powerful appearance, they are generally shy around humans and rarely pose a threat. Blacktip sharks give birth to live young, with females typically having litters of 4 to 11 pups, and their unique reproductive strategy involves placental viviparity, where the embryos develop inside the mother and are nourished by a placenta.

ADAM PEARCE AND DAYE CONNECT ON FORLORN MELODIC BASS COLLAB ABOUT COPING WITH LOSS VIA "TOGETHER ALONE" ON HEAVEN SENT

The Vancouver producer connects with Tennessee-based singer/songwriter and producer Daye for an emotion-filled epic

Vancouver native Adam Pearce is joining forces with Tennessee-based singer-songwriter Daye for a powerful ballad on SLANDER’s Heaven Sent imprint. “Together Alone” is an emotion-fueled melodic bass single that brings the best out of both artists. The release follows Adam Pearce’s recent single “Align” with Dani King, which arrived on the label in the Spring.

Together Alone” is a bittersweet ballad that intertwines love, loss, longing, and the inability to fully let go. Daye’s stirring topline traces the ghost of a love that’s no longer present but still remains long after the departure. Pain meets the power of love and the epic interconnectedness of the universe. The velvety crooning exudes passion while conjuring a catchiness that is assured to linger. Moving piano keys, soothing guitar licks, and ethereal pads help to ease the separation anxiety while deepening the emotional appeal. Euphoric stabbing synth progressions, sparkling keys, and driving drums inject a sense of fluttering elation that balances the heavier realizations. The highs and lows act as a push and pull dance simulating the feeling of moving on without ever fully letting go.

Adam Pearce opens up about the meaning behind the release, saying, “‘Together Alone’ is an exploration of the dualities, paradoxes, and oneness of life and in relationships. It’s about being haunted by a person’s presence long after they are gone, and coping with the idea of their ghost. It’s the bittersweet idea that, somehow, in some way, whether we like it or not, we are all connected by the fabric of the universe.”

Born and bred in Vancouver, Adam Pearce is a genre-defying producer blending trance, progressive house, and chillstep with an unmistakable melodic bass sound. He’s no stranger to the label with previous releases “For The First Time,” “Dreamers,” and his most recent “Align” earning radio support from Zeds Dead, Mazare, and Farhang. Adam Pearce has become a favorite amongst tastemakers as well, drawing support from Zedd, Alison Wonderland, Arty, and more.

Singer, songwriter, and producer, Daye is a triple threat hailing from Tennessee. Renowned for her storytelling skills that weave in themes of love, loss, and self-discovery, she has collaborated with several notable artists including yetep, GhostDragon, and MEDZ. Her work has also amassed support from Sirius XM, Illenium, and Gryffin.

Together Alone” finds the fine balance between pain and love, drifting between forlorn and uplifting for an unforgettable ballad.

SLIPPY, REBEL SCUM, AND MEDYK UNITE ON MOODY, EMOTION-STIRRING DRUM & BASS BANGER "DONT' GO" ON NIGHTMODE

California-based producer Slippy has been staying true to his name with an impossible-to-pin-down sound that moves between trap, dubstep, drum & bass, and beyond. Rebel Scum is a Seattle-based producer who is quickly becoming one of the frontrunners in the North American drum & bass scene. The pair are joining forces alongside anonymous singer/songwriter MEDYK for a stunning, emotion-fueled DnB ripper. “Don’t Go” arrives on NIGHTMODE and builds off the success of Slippy’s previous releases ‘Nobody / White Noise,’ ‘Lone / Feel Alive,’ and his “Youth” collaboration alongside Ghost In Real Life on the label—while serving as Rebel Scum’s debut appearance on the burgeoning label. It’s the latest offering from NIGHTMODE’s 14th season of releases.

“Don’t Go” is a truly evocative drum & bass anthem that brings out the best from the trifecta of talents. Haunting vocals lead the track, setting the tone with ghostly beauty that’s punched up by the energetic drums, giving listeners a hint of what to expect. As the drums are stripped away MEDYK’s raw emotion takes center stage, delivering a captivating pull that drifts between sultry and a distinct sense of yearning. A moody string build intensifies the impact before it bursts wide open into an eruption of rugged synth riffs, ballistic sub-bass call-and-response, and intricate percussive drive. Just when it appears as though the first drop maxed out the peak energy, the producers manage to ratchet it off the charts in the back half with a hard dance-inspired assault of rapid kicks and blistering bass. Moving between an expressive ballad and floor-filling drum & bass weapon, the trio of artists find an astonishing equilibrium.

“‘Don’t Go’ is yet another entry into my ‘emotional songs that still rip’ collection, capturing both Rebel Scum and my sound into one banger.”–Slippy

“Slippy created the initial track and after hearing it for the first time it felt like the perfect time for us to finally team up. This was one where I finished my end in a day or two because it was easy to connect with what he had already done. I think that comes through in the cohesiveness of our different parts throughout the track and we're so stoked to get it out into the world.” – Rebel Scum
