Following five days of sun-drenched music, world-class surf and coastal culture, Boardmasters 2026 has officially concluded, welcoming cumulative 158,000 attendees across 5 days  to the dramatic cliffs of Watergate Bay and the iconic shores of Fistral Beach.

Returning to its home on the Cornish coast, this year’s festival delivered an incredible weekend of live entertainment. Fans from across the UK and beyond descended upon Newquay to experience a lineup that saw headline performances from three of the UK’s most legendary acts.

Friday’s proceedings on the Main Stage kicked off with an electric opening set from local four-piece Fletchr Fletchr, setting the pace ahead of a standout early-afternoon appearance from London singer-songwriter Rose Gray. Later on, headliner Fatboy Slim turned the Watergate Bay Main Stage into a massive open-air dancefloor with an unforgettable DJ set. 

Lily Allen headlined on Saturday, who captivated the crowd with a triumphant return, performing her theatrical ‘West End Girl’ album and delivering a fine performance that stood as a definitive moment of the 2026 festival season. 

Sunday’s Main Stage was fittingly opened by Falmouth-based folk artist Essy Sparrow, who earned her spot as the inaugural winner of the festival’s Boardmasters Breaking competition in partnership with BBC Introducing. Later on delivering one of the most electrifying headline performances of the weekend, indie icons Kasabian closed out the main stage on Sunday with a set that reaffirmed their status as one of Britain’s most legendary live bands.

The Main Stage also played host throughout the weekend to standout performances from The Kooks, who brought their signature indie sound, and Loyle Carner, whose poetic lyricism provided one of the weekend's most poignant moments. Jungle trailblazer Nia Archives cemented her status as a festival favorite, bringing her new live show and her new ‘Emotional Junglist’ album to a rapturous reception, while high-energy sets from artists including Rudimental, REN, Tinie Tempah, Example and Dizzee Rascal kept the energy electric from start to finish.

Across the festival's distinct stages, genre-defying music vibrated late into the night. The Mordros stage hosted explosive sets from Pendulum (Live), Goldie (Live) and rock titans The Darkness, alongside standout performances from rising pop talent Chloe Qisha. Sunset seekers gathered at Surf Club 81, the cliffside venue boasting sweeping Atlantic vistas, for high-energy sets from the likes of General Levy, Lens, Woody Cook and more.

Dance enthusiasts flocked to Unleashed to catch massive sets from the likes of Ewan McVicar, Hamdi, Hannah Wants, Girls Don’t Sync and more. Meanwhile, the iconic Keg & Pasty stage championed grassroots Cornish talent, maritime sea shanties, and stand-up comedy, serving as the cultural heart of the arena.

Advancing its mission to safeguard the Cornish coast, Boardmasters launched a major new ocean protection initiative in partnership with Oceana UK. Centred around the reimagined The View stage, which overlooked the Atlantic with acoustic sets from acts like Sasha Keable, Hot 8 Brass Band, Beans On Toast, and Lucy Spraggan, the stage displayed powerful original protest artwork created by Falmouth University art students calling for an end to destructive bottom-trawling in UK Marine Protected Areas.

Rob Spring, Festival Director says “This year's Boardmasters was everything we could have dreamed of when we started planning each edition, five days of incredible music, world-class surfing and that unmistakable Cornish spirit and sunshine that makes this festival what it is.”, he continued “Watching  people come together on our coastline, from the Main Stage all the way down to the sensory calm space, is exactly why we do this. We're already excited to get started on 2027 and we can't wait to welcome everyone back next year for what's shaping up to be our biggest year yet.”

Beyond the stages, Boardmasters 2026 continued its unique tradition of merging music with surf culture, sustainability, and wellness. The Boardmasters Open at Fistral Beach drew thousands to witness elite international surfing as the event stepped up to a World Surf League (WSL) QS 4,000 rating. France’s Sam Piter clinched the Men’s Shortboard title in a thriller against local favorite Lukas Skinner, while Spain’s Janire Gonzalez Etxabarri claimed the Women’s Shortboard crown. In the Boardmasters Longboard Pro presented by YETI, France’s Louis Marchiset captured his first-ever Longboard Qualifying Series title in the Men's division, while Reunion Island’s Alice Lemoigne made history by securing her seventh Boardmasters title in the Women's division.

Meanwhile, the wellness programme, featuring yoga, sound baths, and ice baths, provided a sanctuary for attendees to reset against the Atlantic backdrop. The festival site also celebrated Cornwall’s rich culinary scene with dozens of local independent traders, Cornish food stalls, and artisan creators lined the arena, showcasing regional produce alongside sustainable, zero-waste dining options.

Additionally, in a commitment to inclusivity, the festival also provided a sensory calm space, offering a dedicated, soothing sanctuary for neurodiverse guests. This quiet zone was equipped with low lighting, earplugs, and weighted blankets, ensuring a supportive environment where anyone feeling overwhelmed by the bustling festival atmosphere could take a moment to relax and recharge.

WhoMadeWho’s Copenhagen-based festival brand joins Yard for a two-day closing celebration at Portugal’s White Sand Mountains on 11–12 September

For the first time, Yard Portugal will host its end-of-season festival, ‘One Last Summer Dance’, in collaboration with The Moment, the Copenhagen-based festival brand founded by electronic trio WhoMadeWho, bringing two days of music, art and design to Yard’s White Sand Mountains in Setúbal from 11–12 September.

Headlining both days, WhoMadeWho will perform a live set on the Friday, followed by a Hybrid set on the saturday showcasing the group’s celebrated genre-blending sound and performance style. Elsewhere, the lineup delivers the very best in house, techno and melodic across two stages from Damian Lazarus, Dennis Cruz, DJ Tennis, Jimi Jules, Anthony, Brunello, Avangart Tabldot, Jamiie and Luch, with more artists still to be announced. 

The collaboration brings The Moment’s distinct identity to Yard. Led by an ethos that extends from the band itself, The Moment festival is known for its feel-good dancefloors and groove-heavy music, which has toured the likes of Egypt, Morocco, Brazil and beyond. Together, the two brands will bring a defining energy to Yard’s festival experience, which has become known for its striking location, art installations and free-spirited crowds.

Celebrating the end of the season, One Last Summer Dance will take over one of the industry’s most unique festival sites and home to Yard Portugal, the White Sand Mountains. At this striking location, white dunes and dramatic rock formations provide the backdrop for the Main Stage and Heart Stage, while production, lighting, art and visual installations enhance the environment’s natural surroundings.

Beyond the festival site, Yard sits within the wider landscape of Azeitão and the Arrábida Natural Park, an area characterised by vineyards, historic palaces and some of Portugal’s clearest beaches. With the festival supported by Visit Portugal, the weekend offers an opportunity to experience a lesser-known side of Lisbon, combining Yard’s distinctive approach to music and culture with the natural landscape, coastline and heritage of the Setúbal region.

The collaborative event follows a landmark year for the Portuguese brand, which has continued to establish itself as one of the country’s most distinctive music and cultural experiences. Its White Sand Mountains site has welcomed artists including RY X, Bonobo, PAWSA, Ahmed Spins, Rampa, Adam Port and Disclosure. In addition to this, Yard has also expanded its reach internationally with events in destinations including Rio de Janeiro.

Together at ‘One Last Summer Dance’ festival, Yard and The Moment will bring the 2026 season to a close with a special two-day gathering.

Once a year, an eclectic global tribe is drawn deep into the jungles of Tulum for a ritual where ancient tradition, untamed nature, and the hedonistic pulse of the dancefloor converge. On January 9th, 2027, Damian Lazarus’ Day Zero returns to the grounds where its mythology was first born, carrying revelers from the fading light of dusk through the deepest hours of darkness and into the rising sun. Today, Damian reveals the cast of selectors and live acts from across the global underground who will shape the next chapter of this jungle gathering.
 

Born in 2012 around the completion of the Mayan calendar, Day Zero emerged from the Tulum jungle with a spirit of renewal that continues to define the gathering today. Long before the region became a global destination for electronic music, Day Zero established a blueprint for experiences shaped by the land, culture, and communities around them — bringing Mayan ceremony into dialogue with forward-thinking music, art, and production. That pioneering vision has since traveled far beyond the Yucatán, with Day Zero expanding to Brazil and Bali in 2026, seeking out destinations that can become enduring homes or inspire singular, one-time gatherings while carrying forward the ethos born beneath the Tulum canopy.
 

Guided by Damian Lazarus’ masterful curatorial hand, Day Zero has always found its magic in the collision of sounds, scenes, and generations from across the electronic music spectrum. His 2027 selections continue that tradition, drawing artists from disparate corners of the electronic world into the jungle for a musical journey built on contrast, discovery, and the unexpected. The lineup features Keinemusik visionary &ME, Brazilian powerhouse Vintage Culture, electronic icon Tiga, New York house legend Victor Calderone, Maccabi House co-founder Mita Gami, Mellow Circus founder Brunello, and piano house favorite LP Giobbi. 
 

Reaching further into Damian’s musical world, the billing welcomes French house tastemaker Chloé Caillet, Apollonia co-founder Dan Ghenacia, revered UK digger Jane Fitz, genre-defying live instrumentalist Satori, South African house visionary Culoe De Song, idiosyncratic German producer Robag Wruhme, hypnotic Berlin favorite Mira, Swiss-French artist Deer Jade, and Romanian minimal pioneers RPR Soundsystem, comprised of Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu, and Raresh. Ever committed to uncovering emerging voices and championing the avant-garde, Damian also welcomes London’s Hard Antoine, Tel Aviv riser Rafael, Tulum-based multidisciplinary artist LUM, and rising producer Mary Jane.
 

Deep within the jungle, El Teatro remains a home for the sounds of Mexico’s underground — a tradition born when Day Zero became the first international festival in the country to dedicate an entire stage exclusively to Mexican artists. For 2027, the stage welcomes Chihuahua electronic-funk outfit Midnight Generation, Mexican house prodigy KinAhau, Tijuana house and techno duo Soul of Hex, and Crosstown Rebels-signed supergroup Secret Echoes (Live), comprised of Metrika, Estefani Brolo, and Balcazar. The stage continues with dark-edged Mexican producer BadWolf, Mexico City electronic explorer Antaares, Tulum-based selector Jawar, live electronic artist Johnny Chief, and underground selector Katana — together tracing the depth, experimentation, and evolution of Mexico’s electronic music culture.
 

Yet Tulum remains the source, and Day Zero’s relationship with the land extends far beyond its dancefloors. Through Crosstown Consciousness, Damian and the Day Zero team continue to support the surrounding community and environment with initiatives ranging from solar-powered street lights throughout Dos Ojos and turtle conservation along Tulum’s coastline to beach cleanups and the restoration of various educational buildings in the area with blocks made from sargassum. Since 2022, Day Zero has also worked with Mexican company PETGAS to transform festival plastic waste into biodegradable fuel used to help power onsite infrastructure, alongside extensive recycling systems and a strict no single-use plastics policy across the grounds.
 

Day Zero’s connection to Tulum also remains rooted in respect for the cultural and spiritual heritage of the region. Working closely with local Mayan leaders, the festival incorporates traditional ceremony throughout the experience, honoring the traditions and land that have surrounded Day Zero since its beginning.
 

On January 9th, Damian Lazarus once again calls his global tribe back beneath the jungle canopy, returning to the source for another journey from darkness into daylight.
