Shambhala began in 1998 as a grassroots gathering of 500 people on founder Jimmy Bundschuh’s family-run farm in Salmo, British Columbia. They have challenged the traditional festival model by not accepting any corporate sponsorship and not allowing alcohol. They also have an industry-leading approach to harm reduction. Today, Shambhala Music Festival is still Canada’s longest-running electronic dance music festival after 24 years of operation. The independently run music festival takes place annually. Each year, festival-goers have the chance to experience the best of what nature has to offer throughout four blissful days while witnessing hundreds of world-class artists across six unique stages, each curated and run by their own stage directors.

Billboard has called it, ‘the northern stronghold of the West Coast transformational festival circuit.’

Rolling Stone has listed it among ‘the seven most transformational music festivals on earth.’

DJ Mag named it the ‘Best Music Festival in North America’ in 2019 and 2022.

CBC has called it, ‘an enduring piece of the live music scene in British Columbia.’

BARCELONA NIGHTCLUB LA PALOMA ANNOUNCES AUTUMN 2024 PROGRAM

The Autumn program features appearances from Theo Parrish, Antal, Nightmares On Wax, Hot Chip, Danilo Plessow (MCDE) B2B Hugo LX, Egyptian Lover & more

Barcelona’s mythical ballroom, La Paloma, have announced their autumn club program. The club, which is the oldest in Europe, originally opened in 1903, has been operating a phased re-opening following several years of closure.

Throughout September the club will welcome Antal, Machinedrum (Live), Danilo Plessow B2B Hugo LX (All Night Long) and Fantastic Man, with Barcelona-based Mainline Collective and queer extravaganza Loco Bingo continuing their ongoing residencies.

Rolling into October, Egyptian Lover, Luke Una, Mr. Bongo, and Ruby Savage will all feature as part of the club's Saturday program, with Glove Party also hosting an event. Booked in for Friday nights are Weval, GAZZI, softchaos, Chico Blanco and DJ Sweet6teen amongst others, with parties hosted by local crews PPL United, Mainline Collective and ODD CLUB.

Looking ahead to November, Theo Parrish (All Night Long), Nightmares On Wax, Toy Tonics DJs, Bradley Zero (All Night Long), and Hot Chip DJs have been locked in as the club switches to its ‘tardeo’ schedule for the winter, a traditional late evening format running from 19:30 - 02:00. Alongside this, dates are confirmed for local crews Poly Ritmo Club, Mainline Collective and Jokkoo Collective.

Located on the border of Sant Antoni and Raval, the 1,000-capacity club has already welcomed Francois K, Gilles Peterson, David Rodigan, Branko, Adrian Sherwood, Ge-Ology, Sadar Bahar and a host of other names this year.

The 1,000-capacity club is a work of art, dating from 1903, featuring a perfectly symmetrical interior maintained carefully since 1919, in a rich red and gold baroque style, with unreserved booth seating available at dancefloor level and on the upstairs balcony floor.

The club was previously closed for some years, but has become a welcome re-addition to Barcelona’s nightlife since undergoing a phased re-opening across the last 18 months.

Tickets to all events are now on sale via La Paloma’s website, Resident Advisor, and Dice.
