AFTER MORE THAN 2 DECADES AS THE MIDWEST’S PREMIER CAMPING FESTIVAL, SUMMER CAMP EVOLVES INTO NEW FESTIVAL CONCEPT, SOLSHINE: A MUSIC AND ARTS REVERIE

Friday, May 24 - Sunday, May 26, 2024
at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois

Festival pre-party slated for Thursday, May 23

“The spirit and community of Summer Camp will remain, but we are excited to again push boundaries, as we did when we started Summer Camp, and expand the festival's mission by bringing the Solshine to the forefront. Soulshine had been the house of our Make a Difference program and sustainability efforts, so elevating that intentionality to the overall festival was a big part of the plan. Summer Camp had evolved into much more than a music festival, it was a community centered around music and art. I wanted to recognize that in the name by not calling it a festival but a Reverie full of music and arts, such that we all can create our experience together – and have that build intentionality in our actions once we leave.”  - Ian Goldberg, founder of Summer Camp and Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie

Following an impressive 22-year run, the creators of Summer Camp Music Festival will enter an exciting new era in 2024 with their new festival concept: Solshine: A Music and Arts Reverie

Debuting at Summer Camp’s beloved venue of Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois, the first-ever edition of Solshine will take place from Friday, May 24 - Sunday, May 26, 2024 with a pre-party on Thursday, May 23.

A pioneer in the festival space, Summer Camp has grown over the last 2 decades to become a staple in the US festival landscape. Expanding from 2,000 attendees in 2001 to over 25,000 attendees in 2023, Summer Camp’s cross-genre music lineup and experiential programming helped cultivate a dedicated fanbase and inclusive community. Since its inception, the festival has been hosted by legendary jam rock band moe. and eventually co-hosted by iconic genre-melding progressive rock band Umphrey’s McGee starting in 2006.

Over the years the festival also hosted a wide variety of music acts including Tom PettyZac Brown BandSkrillexDiploRun The JewelsThe Smashing PumpkinsJane’s AddictionBilly StringsGrizGoosePretty LightsJoe Russo’s Almost DeadSubtronicsPrimusWillie Nelson & FamilyLiquid StrangerCommonDe La SoulThe Flaming LipsPapadosioPhil Lesh And The Terrapin Family BandRebelutionREZZSlightly StoopidSTS9The Disco BiscuitsExcisionThe RootsThree 6 MafiaTipperTrey Anastasio BandTychoZeds Dead and many more.

The festival will host a diverse, cross-genre lineup of musical acts spanning jam bands, electronic, bluegrass, funk, rock, and everything in between. In addition to its music programming, the Solshine will offer a variety of workshops, food & craft vendors, and activities - the heart and soul of what made Summer Camp a ‘home away from home’ for attendees who returned year after year.

Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie will also retain Summer Camp’s core ethos of building an inclusive community around music. Through its mission of sustainability, the festival will aim to inspire attendees to live a life of intention and purpose in order to create a positive impact on the world. To capture this spirit, the festival will host the coveted experiential art area The Illumination Woods and the permanent garden SOULPATCH as a dedicated area to increase knowledge of permaculture and sustainability.

Since its first edition, Summer Camp has been hosted at the idyllic Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois. The inaugural Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie will continue the brand’s longstanding Memorial Day Weekend affair at the breathtaking Illinois venue. The private park provides a natural amphitheater and a stunning landscape that create the perfect scenic playground for festival goers to explore. Attendees can also camp within the festival grounds, further elevating the festival’s community-oriented make-up.

All Solshine Reverie tickets will have camping included. There are a variety of additional add-ons available including VIP upgrades as well as RV and car camping spots. The VIP upgrade includes exclusive amenities, access to the Thursday pre-party, VIP camping and viewing areas, VIP lounge, air-conditioned bathrooms, and more.

DJ AND PRODUCER MICHAEL CANITROT TO PERFORM UNIQUE SHOW AT EIFFEL TOWER TO COMMEMORATE THE PASSING OF GUSTAVE EIFFEL

MONUMENTAL TOUR CELEBRATES EIFFEL

On the occasion of the centenary of Gustave Eiffel's passing, the Eiffel Tower invites the French DJ and producer Michael Canitrot, creator of the Monumental Tour project, for an unprecedented artistic collaboration to rediscover the iconic monument through a unique fusion of heritage, electronic music, lighting, and performances. On December 27, 2023, the anniversary of Gustave Eiffel's passing, this streaming concert (not open to the public) will be broadcast on both french television and social media.

The Monumental Tour concept is a tour that blends electronic music, heritage, and digital art, through stunning visual concerts, establishing bridges between the past and the future to offer a contemporary vision of our monuments. It aims to democratize electronic music by showcasing it in unconventional locations. Honored at the Institut de France and supported by the French National Commission for  UNESCO, this project has also received acclaim in prestigious heritage sites such as the Mont Saint-Michel Abbey and the Palais Royal.

Following the success of five "sold-out" shows for his Monumental Tour, including performances at Place Stanislas in Nancy, France in front of more than 22,000 people and the first date of the project in Italy at the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa in front of more than 10,000 people, Michael Canitrot, concludes the year 2023 with this unprecedented performance at the heart of the Eiffel Tower.

During this exceptional show, Michael Canitrot will showcase an enchanting DJ set, weaving between melodic techno and progressive house, reflecting his recent concerts. He will highlight his new track "CHANGE," created in collaboration with the house music legend Roland Clark, set to be released this Friday, December 15, along with the compilation "CYCLE." This compilation, featuring 10 tracks, recounts two years of musical production inspired by the exceptional shows of the Monumental Tour.

The show will also feature a spectacular lighting display in the Tower and performances by guest artists, including the "Spectre" choir, Yana Mann - mezzo-soprano singer, Abblaye Diop - a contemporary dancer passionate about electronic music, and Yann Dulché - a pianist merging electro beats with classical notes. Award-winning french actor Philippe Torreton will lend his voice to Gustave Eiffel, providing a moving interpretation to guide the audience through this auditory and visual journey.

This original creation offers a fresh perspective on the monument, paying tribute to the boldness and  creative genius of Gustave Eiffel. The broadcast of the show "Monumental Tour celebrates Eiffel" will take place on December 27, 2023, the anniversary of Gustave Eiffel's passing, at 9:00 PM as a premiere on Michael Canitrot's and the Eiffel Tower's YouTube and Facebook pages, before its television airing on the french TV channel CSTAR at 10:50 PM. With a duration of 50 minutes, the program will later be broadcast on C8 and available for replay on MyCanal, the platform for Canal+ group channels.
