SOUND LOS ANGELES ANNOUNCES THREE NIGHT NEW YEAR'S EVE RUN

Kyle Watson, Miss Monique, Chris Lorenzo to play

Los Angeles leading nightclub, Sound, rounds out another unprecedented year with its always much anticipated run of events at Sound in Los Angeles. The three night series starts on December 29 with Kyle Watson then features Miss Monique and finally Chris Lorenzo on New Year's Eve with tickets available for each individual event from $40 or a three show bundle for $125 from LINK.

 Sound is right in the heart of Hollywood and is celebrated for its custom-made sound system, part of a new product line from Funktion One. It is armed with a 3D mapping system which controls both the mood and atmosphere of the venue to provide a unique audio visual experience each and every night. The venue turns 11 in 2024 and this series kick starts its sure to be special celebration. 

 

First up on December 29 is South African pioneer and Dirtybird, Atlantic and Ultra associate Kyle Watson making a welcome return to Sound. He blends his own distinctive take on Afro house with tech, deep and techno influxes to make for a scintillating underground soundtrack. He stated "There's always such great energy in the room and I can't wait to come back for my last club play of the year!" 

 

The night after, in partnership with leading US promotional group Framework, is Ukrainian prog house innovator Miss Monique, who is also a proven market favourite. Her Siona Records label is one of the top selling on Beatport and right at the forefront of the melodic house and techno scene while she has headlines every major club and festival on the planet. 

Last but not least is Chris Lorenzo, the UK trailblazer with an edgy house and tech sound. He has played on the main stages of the world’s finest festivals, released several Beatport No.1s and is a true tech-house tastemaker. 

Previous NYE parties with the likes of Peggy Gou are still talked about to this day so be sure to ring in the New Year with Framework on an immersive dance floor with great vibes and even better music.

An unmissable celebration of music, culture and community, Cross The Tracks will return to Brockwell Park, London on Sunday 26th May, 2024. The first names announced for the 5th edition programme include BADBADNOTGOOD, En Vogue, Eve, Thee Sacred Souls, The Cavemen., Romare, Gilles Peterson, Ella Knight, Ama Lou, Jalen Ngonda, Channel One, Dennis Bovell, Mansur Brown, Jitwam, corto.alto, Cruza, B-ahwe, Jamilah Barry, Sofia Grant, Mr Thing, The Shejay, DJ Flight and many more. As always, the music is set to be complemented by an enriching mix of talks, panels and workshops by charity partners, a creatives market, site art, and more.

This Cross The Tracks line-up once more spotlights the very best artists from the worlds of soul, jazz, hip-hop, R&B and more. Acclaimed Canadian outfit BADBADNOTGOOD fuse jazz, psychedelic, and soul, while 90s R&B favourites En Vogue need no introduction given their longtime chart and Grammy success. Billboard chart-topping American rapper Eve adds some nostalgic sparkle to the tastemakers and is just as universally acclaimed for tracks like 'Let Me Blow Ya Mind' and ‘Who’s That Girl’. The silky vocals of Jalen Ngonda brings the spirit of Marvin Gaye and Thee Sacred Souls are also set to perform, an authentic soul collective with harmonies to melt your heart, plus Nigerian highlife band The Cavemen., Ninja Tune’s Romare live, classically trained musician and composer Mansur Brown, Indian-born multi-instrumentalist Jitwam, dub and reggae sound system favourites Dennis Bovell and Channel One, new school jazz stars corto.alto, and Sofia Grant.

 

There will also be DJ sets from house and garage singer-songwriter and producer Ella Knight, revered digger and Worldwide FM founder Gilles Peterson, and a 15 years of Eglo Records showcase, plus a Handson Family Heritage Stage takeover feat. Mr Thing, The Shejay, Vanessa Freeman, LyricL and Exhibit69, also featuring special guests DJ Flight, Charlie Dark, Terri Walker and Abi Clarke.

2023 sees 808 Festival turn ten in epic style.
