On May 14th, The Gardens of Babylon will host its first Amsterdam music festival at Noorderlicht and NDSM in Noord with the likes of Matthias Meyer, Yulia Niko, Robag Wruhme, Blond:ish, Stavroz [band], Kevin Valentine (live), Nasiri (live) and soundofoz amongst tens more.

After a long winter whirlwind of restrictions and lockdowns, and thus inevitable letdowns and setbacks, you may have found yourself in a deliberate state of hibernation. It's time to awaken from the slumber, after a period of transformation and change. Spring is here, summoning us to break free from our cocoons, emerging as colourful butterflies.

Transforming the NDSM wharf into a garden of vivid hues and inspiration, we invite you to wear your most colourful outfit to spread your wings and flutter freely.

Divided over three stages, you will find DJs, live bands, acts, immersive performances, speakers, spiritual activities, and much more.The first stage offers 12 hours of music from the likes of Kompakt associate Blond:ish, a full band show from Stavroz who are known for injecting an overall ethnic, acoustic and organic vibe to electronic music, and electric back to back between Madmotormiquel and Sarah Wild. Also playing are Arabella Memdouh, Arabella Memdouh, Niv Ast [live] and the Kalaha Moon band.

Area 2 welcomes innovative talents from the worlds of house and techno including long time Watergate resident Matthias Meyer, the leftfield studio wizard and genre bending DJ Robag Wruhme and Berlin based Yulia Niko who releases on Damien Lazarus' Rebellion imprint as well as a hybrid show from Garden City Movement and a set from Sinai.

Area 3 is Levantine House and welcomes soundofoz, live shows from Nasiri, Kevin Valentine and Nawras Altaky as well as more from Breath & Energy, Salmaan and Hamada’s Dabkeh.

VERVE ANNOUNCES FINAL LINEUP AND PRE-PARTIES

The much-anticipated first edition of Verve Festival is to host two special pre-events on Friday May 20th at ROK Club and SUDPOL CLUB in Luzern. The main festival runs 21st - 22nd May, 2022 at Lucerne's Allmend/Messe 1 arena and the final line up features the likes of Dubfire, Fatima Hajji, Ae:ther, Ben Klock, Innellea, Lilly Palmer, Oliver Huntemann, Joris Voorn, Animal Trainer, Denis Horvat, Konstantin Sibold, Miss Monique, Øostil, Pig&Dan, SHDW & Obscure Shape and plenty of others.

The party starts early on Friday at ROK Club in Luzern with Citizen Main, Kuriosikum, Patrischa and Yannick Muller all bringing the grooves, while at SUDPOL CLUB in Luzern, Boho plays back to back with Milla Lou, Deniz Bul, Flo Le Fortis, K.Zimir, Kantarik, Kollektiv Luether, Paradoks and Tibasko.

After that the party moves to the innovative indoor space Lucerne's Allmend/Messe 1 arena, a state of the art venue with high end technology, and punchy sound system and futuristic vibe. In all, over 30 DJs will provide more than 24 hours of music across two special stages with 10,000 people in attendance. Next to the world class music, you can look forward to a culinary world tour that will take you through the best tastes on the planet, and when you need to relax and chill with a cocktail, there is a stylish outdoor area.

The line-up is packed with world-class talent from across the techno spectrum. On Saturday, the likes of Joris Voorn, Innellea, Ae:ther, Doma, Fatima Hajji, Øostil, SHDW & Obscure Shape, Konstantin Sibold, Marco Capone, Gaen, Juliet Fox and more all line up. On Sunday, it is Animal Trainer, Ben Klock, Dubfire, Cattaree, Denis Horvat, Lilly Palmer, Oliver Huntemann, Pig&Dan, Miss Monique, Vanita and more who bring the irresistible sounds.

GRAMMYS REVISED: “THE BUSINESS” IS THE MOST POPULAR DANCE/ELECTRONIC TRACK

Tiësto had the most popular Dance/Electronic track at the 2022 Grammy Awards – and the data proves it.

The winners of the 2022 Grammy Awards are in, with the “Best Dance/Electronic Recording” going to Rüfüs Du Sol’s “Alive”. However, data tells a different story.

Independently of the voting results, the music research and analytics platform Viberate crunched the online popularity stats of the nominees to let the numbers have the final word. After all, it’s listeners across the globe who “vote” for their favorites on daily basis by streaming tracks, watching videos, featuring their songs in TikTok challenges, and Shazaming the catchiest tunes.

The verdict: “The Business” was the most popular dance/electronic track of 2021
Tiësto’s track scored the highest among all the “Best Dance/Electronic Recording” nominees according to its combined streaming, social media, and radio airplay numbers. It was streamed over 800 million times, used in almost 500 thousand TikTok videos, got 182 million YouTube views with its official video, and still boasts the highest Spotify playlist reach (76 million).

According to online stats, Afrojack & David Guetta placed second with “Hero” which was streamed 58 million times, and Rüfüs Du Sol, who won the Grammy in the category, got third place with 19 million streams.
