SUBSONIC PREPARES FOR NEW SINGLE ‘WHERE YOU ARE’ IN THE MIDST OF A PACKED EUROPEAN SHOW SCHEDULE!

Fresh off the back of a huge two month AU and NZ tour, UK drum and bass tastemaker Subsonic continues a busy summer of shows across Europe as well as getting ready to drop “Where You Are” ft. Aya Anne aka. Shadxwgirl.

Carving a distinct path in the drum and bass scene with original tracks like “Last Time” and “Launchpad”, plus remixes for artists like Dom Dolla (“Miracle Maker”) and Kanine (“Left to Right”), Subsonic has become a firm favourite among his peers. The support continues to shine, with Dom Dolla not playing one but two of his tracks at EDC Las Vegas as well as support from drum and bass heavyweight Dimension, demonstrating Subsonic’s sound boasts global appeal.

Looking forward to the rest of the summer playing in the UK and Europe, Subsonic is gracing stages at Flight Festival in Romania, Rampage Open Air in Belgium, Worried About Henry’s Summer BBQ for Motion Bristol’s closing party, Magic Island Festival and many more.

Aligning with his packed tour schedule and already receiving strong reactions on the road, Subsonic’s new single “Where You Are” is set to drop via his own label, Frequencies. His releases this year have been strong across UKF and beyond, with highlights including “Castles In The Sky” with 1991 and “Pressure” alongside Ekko & Sidetrack, marking major milestones for the London-based producer. Adding to an already standout year, his 2022 DNB Allstars anthem “Wait For Me” gets a fresh remix from Etherwood, bringing renewed attention to a Subsonic classic.

From experimenting with electronic music as a teenager to releasing on leading imprints and playing some of Europe’s biggest stages, Subsonic has become one of the most exciting new voices in drum and bass. With a relentless work ethic, a genre-defying sound, and a fast-growing catalogue, 2025 is shaping up to be his biggest year yet and he’s ready to share his story.

DENHAM AUDIO, PIRI AND TOMMY VILLIERS PROVIDE A CRASH COURSE IN INTIMACY WITH LOFTY, VOCAL-LED DRUM N BASS SINGLE "HEAVY HANDED" VIA HARD RECS

THE THREE GLEAMING UK SENSATIONS COMBINE THEIR STRENGTHS ON THEIR NEW VOCAL-DRIVEN DRUM & BASS OFFERING, A CROSSOVER CLUB RECORD OOZING PURE INTIMACY.

Born from three corners of the UK’s electronic underground, Denham Audio, piri, and Tommy Villiers collide on “Heavy Handed,” a spellbinding drum and bass single landing August 22 on HARD Recs.

“Heavy Handed” glows with intimacy, led by piri’s airy vocals, which drift over jungle-rooted breaks, pulsating basslines, and shimmering atmospherics. Tommy Villiers injects warmth with luminous guitar riffs and crisp instrumentation, while Denham Audio locks the track into motion with rave-tested precision. The result is a high-energy yet tender cut, made of equal parts dancefloor euphoria and emotional release.

Being candid about how the single serves as somewhat of a crash course for intimacy behind closed doors, piri explains the underlying meaning of “Heavy Handed,” saying: “There’s no way to be coy about this, the song is about partners being a little too rough in the bedroom! It’s a real problem I’ve picked up on from my own experiences and countless stories from friends, and it was really nice to vent feeling this onto a track. It’s almost educational! The beat moves from being soft and sweet in the verses to really hard in the chorus to match the theme of the song, which I think is really cool. It reflects the  contrast in the sensation I’m desiring in the song versus the frustrating reality of things. I love how you can literally FEEL the difference. I know this topic is not easy to bring up face-to-face, so maybe people can use this track to drop a subtle hint to their sneaky link!”

Each artist carries a weight of influence into this collaboration. Denham Audio first shook the global stage with “Make Me,” a breakout single boasting more than 45 million streams and championed across BBC Radio 1, Capital Dance, Rinse FM, Triple J, and beyond. His upcoming sets at Club Glow at Hootananny Brixton and The Warehouse Project’s Halloween blowout reinforce his standing as one of the UK’s sharpest tastemakers.

Originally based out of Manchester, piri & tommy had a meteoric rise nothing short of explosive, with their viral track “Soft Spot” hitting No. 20 on the UK Independent ‘Singles Breakers’ chart and a career total surpassing 225 million streams. Their recognition as a BBC and MTV “One To Watch”, as a TikTok No. 1, and a BBC Radio 1 “Hottest Record in the World” underscores their instinct for hooks that resonate well beyond the club.

Tommy has been tapped for remixes by Disclosure and LF System, collaborated with legends like MJ Cole and General Levy, whilst piri has collaborated with icons such as salute and the up and coming Omar+. Their sound consistently bridges UK garage, drum and bass, and indie pop with their own unique sound working across almost any genre.

Together, the trio craft “Heavy Handed” as both a tribute to drum and bass tradition and a forward-facing vision for where the genre is headed. With its balance of raw emotion, magnetic groove, and razor-sharp production, the single stands as a commanding statement from three of the UK’s brightest innovators.

16v hatchback breakbeat NRG kickin’ it out of your Kenwood system. Part of the Club Glow collective In a blizzard of breakbeats, b-lines and acid hooks, Denham Audio have brought new urgency and vitality to the modern rave scene. The sound they’re pushing is rooted in the legacy of UK hardcore, but those foundational sounds and styles are given a thorough spruce up, feeding into the buoyant areas of exploration happening between 140 and 160 BPM. Releases have been coming thick and fast, from early outings on Nineteen Ninety Four and Artifice through to a blistering run on WNCL, Frendzone! (alongside Violet), Lobster Theremin, Sneaker Social Club and more. Across these 12”s you can hear every shred of influence spilling out – from the upfront hardcore and jungle through to hip hop and reggae, and beyond the confines of music into sci-fi and anime. As well as a relentless charge of rave-ready EPs and DJ sets spanning the UK and as far as Seoul, Tokyo, Berlin, New York and elsewhere, the Denham Audio pressure also piles into the Club Glow collective. Alongside Borai, LMajor and Mani Festo, Denham are presenting a communal front which first manifested as a tape series and now spans 12” drops, a monthly session on Balamii Radio and coordinated blitzes on appropriately sized dancehalls. It’s a natural extension of Denham’s production endeavours, succinctly captured on the SNKRX05 12” as “16v hatchback breakbeat NRG kickin’ it out of your Kenwood system.” We couldn’t have put it better ourselves.

piri & tommy are a dance-inspired alt-pop band formed out of a manchester student house. The duo’s extensive catalogue is entirelty self written, recorded and produced. Already covering many genres from disco to dnb, they’re finding a new sound for 2025, in the worlds of pharrell, prince & britney.

SABAI RELEASED HIS NEW TRACK ‘SAME HIGH’ FEATURING TRELLA ON IKIGAI MUSIC

Vancouver-based producer SABAI unveils his latest single “Same High (feat. Trella)”, out August 15, 2025 via his imprint Ikigai Music. Blending emotional depth with cinematic electronic production, the track explores the relentless cycle of chasing validation and the quiet unraveling that happens when the high fades.

Written during a period of burnout and emotional exhaustion, “Same High” captures the internal spiral of never feeling satisfied. With lines like “Feel the rush then it turns to dust / Falling out of my reach,” the lyrics depict the rush of achievement dissolving just as quickly as it arrives. It’s a portrait of someone stuck in a loop; pushing harder, running faster, only to end up right back where they started.

“I thought I outgrew needing validation from others… but here I am again, chasing the same high,” SABAI shares. “It just shows up differently now. Whether it’s hitting new milestones or proving something to myself, it never seems to be enough. That’s what this song is about.”

The track features Nashville-based vocalist and songwriter Trella, whose vulnerable performance brings heartbreaking weight to the story. Known for her work with artists like Dabin, William Black, and Kai Wachi, Trella voices the emotional toll of perfectionism and pressure with unflinching honesty: “What’s the point of this / Sitting alone in a hotel room in Vegas / And I hate it.”

“Same High” is the latest in SABAI’s growing catalog of emotionally resonant electronic music, following his recent release “Fuck It, I’m Alright” with Miles Away and Olivia Ridgely. His music fuses melodic bass, cinematic builds, and unfiltered lyricism to explore themes of identity, burnout, and healing.

Fresh off major performances at Lost In Dreams (LA), Beyond Wonderland (Chicago), and FVDED In The Park (Vancouver), SABAI now enters the next phase of his “Fuck It, I’m Alright” Tour. Upcoming dates include cities across North America, with a milestone debut at Terminal 5 in New York City this fall.

SABAI is a Thailand-born, Vancouver-based producer known for his emotionally driven fusion of future bass, house, and R&B. Since emerging on Monstercat, SABAI has amassed over 145 million Spotify streams and earned widespread acclaim for his emotionally charged blend of future bass, house, and R&B. His breakout tracks like “Million Days” and “Daydream” have struck a chord with fans around the world, leading to sold-out headline shows at iconic venues including Academy LA, Webster Hall in New York, and The Midway in San Francisco, as well as performances at major festivals such as EDC Las Vegas, VAC Festival China, and FVDED in the Park. In 2024, he launched his debut album North Star on his independent label Ikigai Music, cementing his reputation as one of the most compelling voices in melodic electronic music. His live performances, often featuring live guitar and cinematic visuals, have graced stages from EDC Las Vegas to the Hollywood Palladium.
