California-based multi-platinum DJ and producer Amp Live continues to push the boundaries of his genre-blurring production style in his new EP, “The Space Burrito Experiment”. The 4-track collection sees him fuse bass music with bizarre, yet timeless, remix samples of classic hip-hop tracks, transforming familiar sounds into a refreshing package of sonic treats. Drawing inspiration from legends including Snoop Dogg and Tupac, Amp Live reimagines these iconic works through an innovative lens, crafting a project that pushes 4 classics into left-field territory, appealing to those who appreciate the unconventional. The Space Burrito Experiment is a bold exploration of hip-hop classics reimagined through the lens of contemporary electronic music. The four-track collection opens with "Rolling Down The Street," a mesmerizing take on Snoop Dogg's "Gin and Juice," where lush string riffs intertwine with the original lyrics before descending into a warbly, bass-driven soundscape. "CA Love" follows, transforming Tupac's "California Love" with an unexpected rock edge that evolves into groovy, downtempo drops and pulsating basslines. The third track, "I Got 5," reinvents Luniz' "I Got 5 On It" with razor-sharp bass lines and glitch-like elements, creating an infectious beat that bridges nostalgia and innovation. The EP concludes with "Gypsy Make Up," a hypnotic interpretation of Crystal Waters' "Gypsy Woman," which unfolds like a sonic tapestry from delicate, ethereal beginnings to a rich, textured climax. Throughout the EP, Amp Live demonstrates his mastery of intricate sound design, seamlessly blending elements of hip-hop, electronic, and experimental music. Each track aims to surprise and engage with its dynamic progression and layered complexity, offering a fresh perspective on these iconic songs while pushing boldly into new auditory territories.

“I used to feel like I was in a box. Even though that box was cool and successful, I didn’t feel like I had a voice. ‘Cause I don’t rap, I don’t sing. Basically, whoever I’m with, what they say is my voice in a way. People can interpret beats in any way, but with lyrics, it is pretty straightforward. Born and raised in Texas, Amp Live has been an icon in the industry for years. He has played all over the map including prominent festivals like Cali Roots, Enchanted Forest, and Lollapalooza. Beyond his solo endeavours, Amp Live co-founded the hip hop duo Zion I, Unified Highway with Eric Rachmany of Rebelution, and the collaborative project with Del the Funky Homosapien. His production credits span an impressive roster including Saweetie, Dirt Monkey, Rebelution, H.E.R., Collie Buddz, MGMT, Goapele, and Atmosphere, along with an official remix album for Radiohead. RISING TALENT KDYN DROPS STUNNING FOUR TRACK EP ‘AS SOULS FIND GREATNESS’

The new EP is a testament to KDYN’s versatile skill and genre bending knowledge that touches on garage, soul, electronica, hip-hop and more.

Following the release of ‘Shine’ in July, rising UK electronic star KDYN now reveals the release of his new EP ‘As Souls Find Greatness’ on EMI records. Recorded and produced entirely by KDYN, this new EP marks a bold step as an artist in and outside of the studio as he becomes a firm one to watch. 

Having produced the EP back in 2022, each track on KDYN’s project demonstrates the producer’s storytelling combined with a versatile ear for a multitude of sounds and samples. The first in line and a personal favourite of KDYN’s, “Amends”, was inspired by the enchanting elements of Bonobo’s ‘Fragments’ album, in particular the soft chords of “Rosewood” that sparked a new creativity from within and has already garnered praise from Wretch 32 and BBC Radio rotations. Meanwhile, ‘Shine’ is as KDYN says and “ode to the past”, inspired by Jai Paul and the mysterious vocals he implements that KDYN pulls into a melting pot of music history spanning electronica, garage, gospel and soul.

“Fight For You” unveils the funk, led by vocal chops and synth stabs, and perfectly depicts KDYN’s personal dancefloor as he refines the groove and rhythm of the drums as influenced by Kaytranada. Wrapping up the EP is “Go Back”, and as a keen synth collector, KDYN leads with chord progressions using unique inversions and variations, “I’m definitely an avid fan of 80’s synths and this track really reflects that” he shares. Combined with pop centric vocals with a modulation twist to transport it to an electronic space, KDYN showcases his undeniable talent. All tracks demonstrate the South London based producer’s diverse musicality, blending garage, funk, soul, and hip-hop into a distinctive and genre-defying sound. KDYN shares:

At just 18, British-Guyanese artist KDYN has already established himself as a dynamic force and a deftly talented producer and multi-instrumentalist. Having already seen consistent industry backing from tastemakers Sian Eleri and Jaguar on BBC Radio 1 as well as rotation from BBC Introducing and Kiss Bliss. 

Born into a musical family with roots in UKG, KDYN's upbringing immersed him in the vibrant sounds of London's underground scene. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of influences, from Funkadelic, Prince and Madlib to Lin Manuel Miranda, AMP Fiddler, Kanye West, his sound is a testament to his eclectic and continually evolving taste. Current artist influences also include the likes of Cleo Soul, SAULT, Kaytranada and Little Simz, whilst incorporating live elements with synths and guitars that marks him as a the next wave of talent to shine through in his own lane similarly to Barry Can't Swim, Fred Again, Mura Masa, Tom Misch and others.

KDYN’s intention is clear: to create funky edged feel-good anthems, harking back to early 2010s demos with pitched-up samples and dynamic rhythms –a sound of his own fusing to deliver a sonic that’s singularly his own. HUMAN RIAS AND DOBÉ REVAMP UKRAINIAN ANTHEM ‘GUELDER ROSE’ AS FUNDRAISER FOR THE OKHMATDYT TRAGEDY

“Guelder Rose” is a Ukrainian song with ancient roots. In 2022, it became a widely recognized anthem of Ukrainian resistance and global solidarity as the world rallied behind Ukraine. 

Human Rias, DOBé and Olha's rendition is rich in optimism with hopeful chords rising up through the mix. The drums roll onwards and elevate your spirits, while the gorgeous vocals convey messages of hope. It's a brilliantly stirring track that packs a devastating punch with plenty of the signature sophisticated production you expect from Rias and DOBé. This melodic techno piece, inspired by the Ukrainian song “Chervona Kalyna” and featuring lyrics in both English and Ukrainian, is more than just music—it’s a call to action. 

In response to the heartbreaking Okhmatdyt tragedy in July, which brought global attention to the suffering of Ukrainian children, artists Human Rias and DOBé, together with Ukrainian activist and artist Olha Borovyk, have launched a fundraiser to support the child victims of the war against Ukraine. 

Scheduled for release on August 2nd, 2024, on the Ukrainian label SVET, “Guelder Rose” will be available for purchase on various digital platforms and Bandcamp, where buyers can contribute any desired amount towards the cause. The fundraiser is meant to collect funds for Save Ukraine: a Ukrainian charitable organization established in 2014 that coordinates dozens of organizations, volunteers, individuals, and legal entities to help those affected by war, with a special emphasis on children. 

Artist Human Rias and Ukrainian activist Olha Borovyk debuted their powerful new track «Guelder Rose» at EXIT Festival, on July 12 at the renowned Dance Arena.
